Ron, Mike, and I are headed out to do some turkey scouting this week, Wed. Hope it doesn't rain or at lest not hard anyway. Weather says 20% chance of rain we shall see. Last year when we went the weather forcast was the same and it rain hard with wind gust of 30/40 miles an hour. Was a waste of time.... |

Late report but better then none.... We didn't see any turkeys went to a new spot. Mike said he heard one gobble but was not sure. Found lots of deer sign so we will check the area out again come deer season and will check once again for turkey as there are some in the area just need to find their roosting area. It was across the road from a private ranch that has some large turkey flocks... |

Unfortunately my move back was required due to health issues.
I'm gonna burn my elk points in Oregon this year and then my deer points next. Hopefully! |

Well Nick I am in Placerville now and the wife just said she wants a divorce so I have a few acres and plenty of time. It looks like I will be hunting Ice House again and if I can get another dog I am going to join Quail Point for birds. |

I got a few toms running around the house my youngest has been calling them so they are looking of r the hen and keep doing laps around the house. |

lol now that is a good deal Scotty... Ron and I went up to Laguna last week stayed until after dark couldn't get any turkeys to shock gobble didn't see and tracks, or sign anywhere. This area has been hot for the past two years All we can figure the weird weather has kept them down low or maybe the cats have chased them out as we didn't see much in the way of deer sign either. not looking good around there. |

Thanks guys, been working a lot, got a promotion and have to do more work. I had to mow the pastures this weekend I kept losing kids and dogs out there. I had to run an errand an had a tom sitting where I park the truck when I got home. I tried to get to the bow but he was gone. I just use the sink in the garage for cleaning so why not.

Congrats on the promotion Scotty.... You still have until the 20th I think to get that turkey and two others so keep after him... maybe one of these days John or I will get lucky and hook up a job.... I'm lucky I have a good landlord as I haven't paid rent since Feb and he is not giving me a hard time about it. |

Hey all you turkey scouters..... has anyone scouted or hunted Mendecino NF? I've tried Spenceville for that past few seasons and got skunked every time. Seems like they'd rather flock in the city limits than where they're supposed to be. Would love to get my dauther her first wild turkey. Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Got my eye on two turkeys and a deer down on Mt laguna soon can arrow eather sex on both. To bad I only picked up one deer tag this year.. two turkey & two deer would have been great..
I have the Rage X-Tremes i need to test zeroed in. They fly great and should kill awesome with a 2.3" cut... |
