with all of the areas that have a problem with hogs, I'm surprised no one's gotten back to ya. Hang in there Patrick, maybe after the holiday....

patta2204 do a search on the TX DNR website and find the WMA nearest you and you will find hogs and it wil cost you nothing. The whole southern and southeastern USA have plenty of hogs and actually have way to many. After finding the nearest WMA all you will need to do is some footwork scouting and you will be able to find where the hogs are as their destruction is easy to see. I would suggest you use this favorite recipe for getting hogs to come to where you want ot hunt them. Get yoursrlf a 5 gallon bucket with a lid and fill it with corn and then add a sic pack of the cheapest beer you can find and then out the lid on tight and let it sit for a few days. When getting to where you will be hunting I always pour some of the mixture out on the ground cloes to my stand or ground blind and then I hang the bucket from a limb about head high and I the make a small hole using my knife so it will drip the beer and the wind will carry the smell and it may take a while but if there are hogs in the area they will come. This is a method we have used here for many years and it is always successful where there are a lot of hogs. Some add other ingredients such as a Kool Aid, yeast, and other things that add ot the odor. Hogs have an unbelieveable ability to scent things as evidenced by thier use to hunt and find truffles. As I said if there are hogs in the area they will come as long as you plan to sit all day. If the hunting pressure has been a lot they most times go nocturnal and here in Georgia we can hunt them at night using a light that is 9 volt powered. The best of luck to you and if you like you can email me at bigdawgwalls@yahoo.com for any questions you might have or any other info that I did not give here.
