I live in Minnesota and hunted Rifle season this year.  I shot a 7 pt buck in the rifle season.  The muzle loader season starts on Saterday and I am planing on going hunting.   What I am not sure of is can I only shoot a doe in the muzle loader season now that I already shot a buck this year?  The section I hunted for rifle season was a hunters choice area and the section I will be hunting for the ML season is an intesive harvest area.  I will try to contact the DNR on this but they are closed today for T-day and unfortunatly i got home from work to late to catch them yesterday.  Hopefully they will be open tomarrow.  Thanks.

You can buy bonus tags for zones that have them available. You must also buy the ML license as well. The Bag limit is one Buck/Doe for all hunting seasons combined. Bow, Riffle, & ML. Plus any bonus tags that are eligible. For example in zone 126 is a managed deer area. In zone 126 you are limited to 2 deer total all seasons combined for the 2012 hunting season.

Yes, all you can shoot is does.

Here in Minnesota were only allowed one buck per year in the bow/rifle/ muzzle seasons combined.

One point I wasn't able to clarify is Mark's statement about the Buck/Doe for all hunting seasons combined. What I mean is that I'm not sure if you have to buy the muzzle license plus a bonus tag, or if you can take a doe on just your muzzle license. From how I'm interpreting the handbook on pages 69 and 70 you can take a doe with just your muzzle license.

On page 69 it clarifies the one buck per year rule.

On page 70 it reads.

Intensive deer areas: Using any combination of licenses and permits, the bag limit for intensive deer areas is five deer.

If I'm misinterpreting this hopefully Mark can clear it up.

I hope this helps as you won't get much help from the DNR until Monday.
