i havent hunted with them yet but i know they are powerful they have more knockdown power than an arrow and can definetly take a deer they were used to hunt mammoths and other things before and have been around alot longer than a bow. |

They are legal to hunt deer in Missouri, there were 2 that I know of taken during the 2011 season using the Atlatl. never tried one but would like to at least throw one just for the novelty.

Any weapon is legal for taking deer in SC. Spears, Atlatl, crossbow, rifle, shotgun, conventional archery, compound bow, and handgun. You can even use a bowie knife when taking wild hogs. |

The first time I'd ever seen a atlatl was when they had it on Top Shot. Taking a whitetail with one would be one h*77 of a challenge!
And, no I don't think the OP is still around. I think they are just trying to stir up more web traffic for some reason.
