So last Saturday I took my son and step-son (both 10-year-olds) grouse hunting here in Eastern Idaho. They both drew on a youth turkey hunt that opens this weekend, and I wanted to get them some hunting experience before we set out to chase turkeys. With all the bow hunters in the woods we didn't see as many birds as I would have liked, but they each were able to shoot a grouse. My son got a dusky and step-son a ruffed. We had alot of fun. They came home as victorious first-time hunters, and I came home a proud Papa. It was a great way for them to get their feet wet as noobie hunters.
