Misconception is that racoons are strictly nocturnal. That's not the case, I've killed them at 10am before. This is a good question, but I think it really depends on where you live as to the behavior of the racoons. Bait them, put out a trail cam and you'll get your answers. Like stated before, I've shot them at all hours of the day and evening. |

Racoons love to eat corn. Yes, hard cracked corn from any feed mill will bring in the Coons like flies to Sh!%. You can just pour a pile onto the ground and put your game cam over it. You'll not have to go more than 1 night/day to see them all coming out. |

Coons eat anything they eat anything from dogfood to bread. Throw some kibble out there a few less creatures will rob you before coons get to it. |

If you want to hunt/shoot coons, you can put out a deer feeder filled with cracked corn. During the rifle season when I'm in Michigan I debate shooting coons when I see no deer for the day. Typically, I hold off till the last day and then let loose on the coons. They are so stupid after blowing one apart, they'll run back to the corn in 15 minutes when all is quite again. Here is a pick of one that had tried a taste of my Muzzy 125gr. Broadhead last bow hunting season. And I shot this one at 11:30 am. |

they really like cat food or sardines. I'm really prejudice about raccoons. They eat a ton of turkey eggs and I've got little use for them. Seems they get into everything and will even get into sheds and houses. |

Willy, that video is too funny. At one point he looked almost pissed that you opened the door and was bothering him. Good video and thanks for sharing. |

Time depends on the time of year and weather. Bait is a local question. We use apples along with other fruit, apples working the best probably because of the apple orchard right next the area we trap. My dad and grandpa used to use fish cleanings back when they went out along the river. It really depends on what they feel is natural. Just make sure you use gloves. Nothing drives them away faster than human scent. |

Seems they are more nocturnal around here, with few sightings during the day. But, whatever time they 'come out', they should 'go in' a pot soon afterwards!!LOL!!

This may RUB some or a lot the wrong way BUT, the way some are posting just why do we HAVE season's on wild game, even the raccoon has a season and I for one wouldn't want to get caught breaking season's on any of them, And I sure would NOT post on a Web site that I did, BUT good LUCK YOU may NEED it if the right people ever see some of the post's and the times they were posted. |

I'm pretty certain that Obamas, just like deer, turkey and other game animals all have different seasons based on different states and their game zones. I seriously doubt that there is much here that could incriminate anyone in any illegal Obama killings!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I've shot deer out of season because they can't stay out of the grain that was purchased for my father's black Angus cattle. A nuisance is a nuisance, simple as that. Be it a Yote, Coon, Bobcat, Deer, Black Bear...you name it. Does this mean I poach? No I don't, wouldn't consider using a rifle to shoot that monster 10 point buck that just doesn't seem to come into range during bow season. But I'll shoot a fuc'n coon right off my bait pile if that little varmint doesn't stop eating all my corn! That bait is for deer, not Blue Jays, Squirrels and Raccoons. |

If yall got coon problems just ask around for a coon hunterr he will be glad to help you out. He,s dogs want run off the deer either. They will just get the deer off the beds and will be stiring around alot more the next morning looking for there running mates that might have gotten off in the wrong dirction. Coming from a deer hunter and coon hunter. Got a few nice bucks from coon hunting the night before and going deer hunting the next morning in the same spot |

If you left the deer like a nuisance permit, fine , but if you ate the deer, I call that poaching in anyones book.... |
