This assault weapons ban is crazy. I talked to a guy yesterday about reloading and he said you couldn't get Primers even, and I thought he was a liar. Came home made some calls and everyone is selling out of small rifle primers as soon as they come in. I was wanting to get a couple thousand as I shoot .223 non-AR. Online just about everyone is out and then there is a $27 haz-mat shipping charge if they do have any. .223 bullets are also selling out. haven't checked powders yet.

Sit it out and it'll die down. The craze is raging everywhere but all things subside. Reloading isn't one of the targets of the banners.

It will be a target. But right now, primers I can find without too much trouble. Bullets are hard to come by, powder is a sometimes/someplace thing. Stopped at a local shop yesterday, they had 3 boxes of bullets, probably a dozen bricks of primers, and a nearly normal (for them anyhow) supply of powder. Last weekend, a buddy hit a big sale in upstate Pa, they had about half of what we wanted and some of those items, we got the last ones they had in stock.

Just hang on and keep your eyes open, it'll settle down.

How fast we forget, the same thing happend back in 92, was crazy for a while. The good news is a lot of folks get tired of all that stuff they hoarded and bargains galore wait . (I hope)

primers, brass, bullets ( even 22s) reloading dies, 223 and 308, back orders on some reloading presses, even buckshot getting rare around here. The Gov. and the preppers are buying it up . Most of the folks that I see on the net are storing for long time use so good luck on sales. If this gun ban passes it will be worth its weight in gold on the black market..

Shoot '98 and '99 was the last time.  I remember that very well.  That was when Texas Instuments transfered my wife to Dallas.  But, as was said.  It'll pass.  Things will come back to some sort of normalcy.  Is that a word?  Sounds good.  Anyway, it has before.  It will again.  Now, if they would stop playing with the price of gas and diesel. this looks like its going to be a bad year.  The number 13 has always been good to me.  It's letting me down this time.

The first time I remember it happenin' was back in '68 when LBJ and his band of Democrap thieves passed our first piece of anti-gun legislation. Made up my mind at that time, to allways be prepared. I have! None of these shortages since have had any effect on me.
At any given time since '68, I have allways had 10---20,000 primer, 40 t0 80 lbs of powder and more then enuff bullets on hand to get me thru any crisis---I hope!

ahoffman: I ahve a friend in Tucson that is like you. He has 15 thousand of each type of primer. Powder wise. I can't remember what he saiid he has. he has enough that he told me not to buy any more powder or primers. He has enough to keep us both covered for the rest of our lives. Bullet wise. He has enough that neither one of us has to worry with a majority of the clibers or weights. The only one I'm stressing about is 190 grain .30 for my 30-338 magnum. I could get 165 or 168 grain barnes, or partitions. But, they are really expensive. I like the hornady 190 grain interlocks though. They blow a really nice hole thru a bull elk.
When it comes to 22 LR. He has 15 thousand of them. All Federal 36 grain that come in a 550 round bulk box. Well, He does have a few Winchester and a few of the other makers. But, he likes the Federal like I do. They seem to be a more accurate and consistant 22 than the other makes of 22's.
