Can Millet rings or bases (turn-in style) be used with Leupold rings or bases (turn-in style)?  Is the turn-in locking cam compatible?  How about the rear grip bases of each style and the rear gripped ring?

Before anyone says, yes I know it's best to use the same manufacture ring and base, but this is a rhetorical hypothetical question.

45 views and no responses. Either the answer is obvious (they all fit and work) or no one knows?

Can't say for sure. I had a Leupold set like that years ago, I couldn't keep the rear ring tight. Finally threw it away and went Weaver style ever since. Currently, I'm a fan of Burris Signature Zee rings. However to try and answer your question, I believe Redfield actually pioneered the dovetail system, I would imagine the dovetail angles are similar enough. Contact Millet/Leupold/whoever for a definite answer.

I'm not big on mix and match, I always use rings from the same manufacturer as the base. On all my hunting rifles, I have Leupold bases and rings, have never had a problem with them. On the other hand I know many people that use Weavers and are also pleased with them. I am partial to the cam lock and also like the adjustable rear screws on Leupold. Redfields also a good choice, what it boils down to is personal preference and what works for you. So far as mix and match, I would shy away from it.

I have used the standard style millet rings on the leupold bases without a hiccup and don't see why the DD rings and bases would be any different.

I would advise you to NOT mix and match.

I would advise you to NOTmix and match.

For what reason?  A statement like that with no supporting information does not help anyone make an informed decision.

Been mixin' and matchin' rings/bases for over 50 years. Have had no problems. In spite of the name on the ring/base, ya have no idea in most cases who made'um. Most scope, except hi end, are also contract made.
