I don't know if this is the correct spot to post this, but this is for all those who think a so called "Assault" weapons ban won't affect you because all you do is hunt you need to go to our Queen Feinstein senate page and read about this, being blessed by the King Obama himself. I would like to know from those smarter than me what an assault weapon is! I don't ever recall anyone in the Navy ever being issued one. I seen Mossberg 500's Rem 870's, M-14's, M-16's, M-4's and a few others so will your 870 be a assault weapon? If you think you will be grandfathered in, well you will be, as long as you register with fingerprints and a whole lot more. www.feinstein.senate.gov

I don't see this passing the house in the near future but the left will continue to take every inch they can until before you know it they have taken a mile. Don't believe that they are not against hunting or hunters, that's just too many inches down the road to talk about right now. |

Any weapon capable of fully automatic fire is an actual assault weapon. The guns the antis want to ban are nothing more than semi-automatic guns. They only bear a cosmetic similarity to an M-16 or M-4, nothing else. |

rthomas if it only has to do with fully auto, then assault weapons have been banned since 1938 I believe. I truly believe that people started calling a AR-15 a "Assault Rifle" because thats what they incorrectly thought AR stood for, like everyone think RPG stands for Rocket Propelled Grenade and it stuck. zgrimshaw thats what we thought with Obamacare and the 1994 assault weapons ban, and holly I would be willing to do that if and only IF it would shut her up. Someone has to sacrifice for the team. Problem is the PTSD afterwards! I believe it will pass because the media is liberal leaning and will distort the truth if it gets them a better story. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. |

The definition of an assault rifle is a rifle that is capable of selective fire, uses an intermediate cartridge (more than a pistol but less than a standard rifle 300m. range), has a detachable magazine, and has the capability to be fired from the shoulder (has a butstock).
The definition of assault weapon is semiauto rifle with a detachable magazine and with 2 or more of the following; a folding or telescoping stock, a pistol grip, a bayonet mount, a flash suppressor, and a gernade launcher.
This is from Wikipedia. |

wikipedia is another one of those oft quoted liberal sources, that wouldn't know an actual "assault weapon" from a damn slingshot! Also, read the NRA-ILA report on what Feinstein actually wants to ban/confiscate/ outlaw!!!!!!!! Then remember what I previously posted about giving an inch!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

the mainstream liberal media are the ones that hung the "assualt weapons" name on our modern sporting rifles. They, along with Obama, Feinstein, Pelosie, and the rest of those idiots in Washinton DC have taken it and run with it. the Feistein bill is a freakin' joke. I'm acually kind of glad that she went as far as she did on it. It is so far out there that I dont think it has a snowballs chance of passing. It is to much to fast. Even with the media and the libs screaming like the little girls that they are the american people will not take this sitting down. Let your senators and representitives know how you feel. It's our right to speak out, and if they know that we wont take it then they will know that they will not be re-elected. |

Just to stir the pot. I still contend the 2nd amendment is about assault rifles, however you want to define them. I have said this before, the primary purpose of the 2nd amendment is to protect military type small arms, not our sporting (target and hunting) arms. I am well aware, and totally agree with those that content that no matter what we say on our side, no matter how we say it, the gun grabbers are going to make up arguments to keep chipping away at our right to keep and bear arms. I do not say much on this subject because I do not see the value in fighting among ourselves about what we should call this or that, if we only said it this way the gun grabbers would have to admit they are wrong etc. etc. But once and a while I cannot help myself. I know it ain't popular, and I know it would seem that it would create more problems if fully auto guns were again legalized (I know, I can go ask the Gov for a special license and prove to them I am worthy to own a fully auto gun) but that in my opinion is what the 2nd amendment is there to protect along with any other military type small arm. Remember the 2nd amendment gives a purpose statement "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, ..." Well I do not see where the purpose statement brings up hunting, target shooting or other sporting type reasons, it is "necessary to the security of a free state,..." All we need to do is look to see what the military sees as necessary for its ability to fight (small arms here, the 2nd amendment talks about keeping and bearing arms, which I think (but could be wrong) applies to small arms). Well, last I checked the military has or has had in the past fully auto small arms, select fire small arms, bolt action small arms, etc. etc. Therefore, those are the arms I have the right to keep and bear uninfringed according to the 2nd amendment. But we as a nation have thought better of it and continue to chip away at that declared right recognized in our constitution. It is now so bad we are arguing about semi-automatic weapons and the number of bullets that a gun can have attached to it. We as a nation have allowed that right to be trampled so much that we are now arguing over what very little of that right is still not illegal in this country. That my friends is a crying shame. my 2 cents jack

What everyone, pro or con needs to remember, is that the militia that was the first to fight for our freedoms, did so with hunting rifles! There were no such things as military small arms in the 1700's. The British military carried many of the same exact guns that the Colonists carried. The difference was the Colonists used them to hunt and kill squirrels, rabbits, turkeys, deer, elk, moose, ducks, doves, quail, and as protection against marauding tribes and the French to the North and the Spaniards to the South! There is no Constitutional guarantee of the right to hunt, since the founders could never have envisioned a time when hunting wouldn't be seen as a primary source of feeding the nation. When people try to point out that "muskets" were the weapons intended, they are missing the fact that back then the Federal Government's interpretation of a road, was a dirt two-track. For every individual who wants to compare apples to oranges in an effort to ban my guns, I say, let's get absolutely literal, and ban the interstate highway system as well; hell it makes just as much of a logical argument!!!!!!!!! |

RT I do not disagree that my hunting guns are also protected by the 2nd amendment. My point is that we have already given so much ground because the anti's are winning the battle to define the 2nd amendment as the hunting and sporting amendment. It is not, the purpose of the 2nd amendment is to make sure that guns stay in the hands of the common man so that freedom will be protected. It is not just a cute quip when folks say that the second amendment protects the rest of our freedoms. BTW I agree that the founder's could have never imagined the world we live in today. Heck, if I remember correctly some were arguing that adding the 12 (turned out that only 10 got listed) amendments was counterproductive because we risked getting what we have today, ignoring the 10th amendment completely because they thought it was self-evident that "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." Well because of our education system and the "living document" pukes that certainly is not self-evident to most today. In fact, both parties when it has served their purpose have completely trampled that self-evident truth throughout history. Therefore, while I maybe a bit extreme, I want to draw the line as close to what is written as I can given the second amendment did get added to the constitution. It is the one document that we have a chance with in the courts (all be it getting slimmer and slimmer all the time). jack

From shat I have read so far about the current feinstein bill my Winchester 1300 shotgun would be considered an assault weapon as I have a pistol grip stock on it for better holding while turkey hunting. I feel we need to be much more proactive with our congressmen and women. We need to do more emailing, calling, and attending local events where they are present We must present the most logical arguments we can and keep our cool at all times. Just look at all the attempts to remove references to God wherever it show up in government. All this comes from just 14 percent of our population. |

Feinstein's ultimate goal is the elimination of all privately owned guns, regardless of whether it's a rifle, shotgun or handgun. Don't believe it? Go back and research her comments during the debates over the Clinton Gun Ban proposals. She, Boxer, Bloomberg, Biden, Brady, and other left wingers tried their damned best to outlaw handguns and all semi-automatics regardless of features back then. This time around, she's actually expanded her list of guns she wants to ban or confiscate! |

"Assault weapon" is a made up media/ liberal term for guns that look scary. This upcoming proposed ban from what I've read will include semi-auto rimfires capable of taking a mag with more than 10 rounds, my Rem 597 will do that, how about your 10/22? Semi-auto handguns with a mag of more than 10 rounds, most all but the micros and compacts come from the factory that way. Semi-auto shotguns and rifles with a thumbhole stock or pistol grip, can you say turkey guns? And of course the ARs, SKS, M1, Mini 14. This is just off the top of my head. Sitting back and thinking it will never happen won't cut it in the current political climate we are in. Gun owners need to wake up and be vigilant if they are not already, this is not just about some "assault weapon" you don't think you will ever own for hunting or personal protection. |

There is an old adage, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." This week the media is trying to convince us that support for Senator Feinstein's anti-gun legislation is weak, but if we are not PRO-ACTIVE, the legislation will pass as written. You will wake up just in time for SHOT Show with new laws that make your AR-15 a Class 3 weapon. This means that if you want to keep your tactical rifles, you will have to register them, pay a $5-$200 tax, and notify the government if you intend to take them out of state. You will also completely waive your 4th Amendment rights to reasonable search and seizure. ATF will have the right to knock on your door and inspect the weapons anytime they want. You will also see an end to standard capacity magazines. This isn't a threat. It isn't political posturing. Diane Feinstein and the anti-gun machine have already introduced the legislation, and it will be rammed through Congress and signed by the President if we do not Stand As One and act today.
Please contact your legislators immediately, and post the links above to your discussion boards. Also please contact all of the gun companies you do business with and ask them to take action now and don't sit on their resources in reaching out to the gunowners of America. All of them have mailing lists, and all of them are sitting on them pretending that they don't have any responsibility, while doing record business in the stuff that is going to be banned or regulated. This 2nd Amendment crisis is not about KA-CHING. We call out to Midway USA, Gunbroker, Brownells, Sportsmen's Guide, Cabelas and all the firearms and accessory manufacturers. If you have a list, use it. We must Stand As One if we are to defeat this threat to our freedom. Aside from one NRA-ILA email notifying us about the legislation, even the NRA has been silent. Facebook isn't enough. Our testing has shown that the effectiveness of Facebook is very small. You MUST EMAIL YOUR LISTS THIS WEEK before the legislation gains public support. We are about to enter a dark time in 2nd Amendment freedom and political wrangling from the NRA isn't going to cut it this far out from an election. The legislators need to hear from us, that we will work to defeat them in their next election bid.
This is not an alarmist position. The anti-gun machine was prepared for this opportunity, and they are very well organized. Senator Feinstein herself admitted that she has been working since last year to investigate all of the loopholes from the last "Assault Weapons Ban" and eliminate them. That means that this time there will be no thumbhole stocks, no sawed off flashhiders, no California "bullet buttons." It is almost as though the anti-gunners allowed the old ban to end in hopes of making a better one this time. This legislation is extremely comprehensive and if it passes, every tactical rifle in America will instantly become a Class 3 weapon. No new guns will be produced at all, effectively shuttering every AR-15 manufacturer in the country.
Don't be fooled by the pollsters this time, for or against. They key point in this legislation is that we are more than a year from the start of the next campaigns for the mid-term elections. The anti-gun lobbyists, as you read this, are contacting the House and Senate members trying to convince them that American voters are not going to punish them for voting for new and sweeping gun control. Few politicians actually stand for anything, so how we react is paramount to defeating this legislation. You must notify your legislators that you are watching their vote and that you will work to defeat them in their next election bid if they vote for any new gun legislation that comes out of the Sandy Hook shootings. Over 500 people have been killed in Chicago this year, the most gun restrictive city in the USA. We will not sacrifice our 2nd Amendment rights because the media is up in arms about the slaughter of 20 white kids by a mentally disturbed individual who stole his mommy's guns.
Also don't think that the Supreme Court is going to help us on this one. The legislation clearly identifies the approach to grandfathered weapons as a tax, and the Supreme Court has recently dealt with this issue on Obamacare, and refused to strike it down. Our swing vote, the George W. Bush appointed Justice Stevens, has already demonstrated that he will not strike down major legislation from the bench if he can find a way to avoid it, and this tax approach to our guns won't even make the Supreme Court. You may think that the original 2nd Amendment guaranteed us the right to the same guns at the government (muskets at the time), but there is plenty of Federal case law from the 1986 machinegun ban that has laid the groundwork for this Feinstein bill. It will pass, and it will stand.
If we Stand As One this week, the legislation will be stopped. Please contact your reps in the House and your Senators today. Mobilize your friends and family. Email everyone in your contact list. And most importantly post the direct links above (not to GunsAmerica) to every single discussion board, blog or forum to which you frequent.
As we have tried to explain already, GunsAmerica is all alone out here in this fight. Please encourage the gun websites you do business with to join our Stand As One campaign and email their mailing lists to fight this game changing legislation. We are all NRA Life and Endowment members here at GunsAmerica, yet nothing has come from NRA. Our competitors Gunbroker have sent nothing, apparently content with the spike in business. Midway USA has a huge list, yet nothing has come from them. Brownells is in the news for selling 3 1/2 years of magazines in one day, yet nothing has come from their email list. And worst of all, Cheaper Than Dirt actually announced that they would stop selling guns online, supporting the public opinion against our guns. Sportsman's Guide even had the nerve to send a happy go lucky "After Christmas" sale email on AR-15 accessories. Don't boycott these companies. Contact these companies! We have to stand together or we are going to lose. Now is not the time to argue and sit on our resources of huge email lists to America's gun enthusiasts. We Stand As One!
Some of you got upset at us calling Alex Jones a turd in the punchbowl of 2nd Amendment freedom, but it is the truth. The conspiracy theory websites do not stand with us on this one, though they claim that they do. A lot of young people are caught up in a conspiracy theory mindset that is preventing them from seeing the forest through the trees. 2nd Amendment rights were never about hunting, and there has always been an out in the open "conspiracy" against them. if you espouse big government control and oversight of all Americans, you obviously don't want free thinkers to be armed. It doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to figure out that Diane Feinstein wants to watch and control all Americans, and disarming us is an important step for her and her ilk. Alex Jones and his gang may seem well intentioned, but what they really want is internet traffic. They want to sell you the movies and the water purifiers and the survival food and the male enhancement pills, PERIOD. Guns are just the latest thing on the conspiracy theory bandwagon because it "gets the buzz going." They may be gun loving Americans at heart, but what is driving them today is the almighty but ever weakening $$$ dollar.
Diane Feinstein doesn't care how much survival food you have in your bunker . But what she does have is the actual power to halt the production of an entire class of firearms and magazines, and she plans to do that, this week. Get out of your armchair and get into action.
This quote from a recent article in the Russian newspaper Pravda urging us to not give up our 2nd Amendment freedom says a great deal:
Do not be fooled by a belief that progressives, leftists hate guns. Oh, no, they do not. What they hate is guns in the hands of those who are not marching in lock step of their ideology. They hate guns in the hands of those who think for themselves and do not obey without question. They hate guns in those whom they have slated for a barrel to the back of the ear.
We must Stand As One!

I believe, this is my opinion, that these gun grabbers are just trying to control us make us obey like a dictatorship would. If they are able to get our guns then they have leverage to do do. I read somewhere a quote that Feinstein said and it was something like if she could have got 51 percent of the vote she would have had an outright ban and give them up Mr. and Mrs. America. Not exact words but close. That shows how serious she is about this even though she obviously has no clue about guns. If we the people don't make a stand this is just a stepping stone to what's to come |

bpearce, that definition looks like the clintonian definition. Gfaber hit on it, those characteristics (bayonet lug, flash suppressor, pistol grip) LOOK evil so they must be outlawed. Back when the clinton ban was being debated, the Washington post ran a picture of an AR and a conventional semi-auto rifle. The text read something to effect of "they shoot the same ammunition, at the same rate- one bullet per trigger pull. The only real difference is that one looks evil". This was from the liberal Post. |

As I've posted on at least a dozen or more other sites, this is not about guns! This is about CONTROL, and the Libs under Obama being used to control the country. The next step is for him to backdoor an outright gun control scheme, sign the UN treaty, and declare martial law. Then round up those of us who survive the shootout and ship us off to those FEMA camps as he trounces the Constitution and dissolves Congress on the way to establishing his dictatorship. The fools like Feinstein, Pelosi, Boxer, Bloomberg, Sarah Brady, and the other liberal leaders of the Democrats won't know what hit 'em, till it's all over and the fit hits the shan! |

Which one should be banned? I say both! Along with knives, shovels, piano wire (oops - military high E piano wire and two 3" pieces of broom stick) OK - broom sticks, sharp sticks, fists(if you are George Foreman - hell throw his grills in too - could hit someone with one), whole body (if you are Chuck Norris -= in fact, let's ban Chuck Norris!) Sorry - got carried away. Maybe we should just ban Feinsten......................... |

I plagiarized this from a member of another site that I visit. I stole it because I felt it was a pretty good summation of what we're up against in this battle. Some say that ignorance is bliss, I say it can be downright destructive.
There is widespread irrationality and ignorance demonstrated by people
across the board on gun control issues -- the general public, the news
media, and elected officials.
Ignorance is a condition that all of us are afflicted with. We are
ignorant about all things . . . except the few things we do know about. I
am ignorant of anesthesia for use in performing surgeries. I am
ignorant of cultured yeasts introduced into grape pressings to start
fermentation in making wine. I am ignorant of the preferred leather used
in making the shoes I wear. There is nothing unseemly or unusual about
being ignorant. However . . . it behooves one to educate oneself on a
given subject BEFORE trying to guide the opinions of others, before
proposing legislation on that given subject.
With reference to irrationality, I use this term with some restraint.
Thinking takes place in accordance with certain rules. It really isn't
entirely necessary that one takes classes in rigorous logic to think in a
disciplined fashion -- though that may help. We know that it is
irrational to say that 1+1=3. Or that "a" is not "a." As an example of
irrationality, I saw someone post on another site that they
understand that an assault rifle ban will not prevent criminals from
obtaining guns . . . but it will be a pain in the azz for those
criminals. I submit that this is an irrational reason to enact a gun
control law. It is admitted on its face that the law would have no
material effect on reducing crime and have only a trivial effect --
making it a "pain in the azz" for criminals -- on criminals at all. No
consideration is given to the millions of stakeholders who are law
abiding citizens who will be disadvantaged by such a law. No
consideration is given to the fact that this law might very well create
criminals of otherwise law abiding people. No consideration is given to
the role of the law of unintended consequences, where the unintended
consequences far outweigh the intended consequences of legislation.
Irrational or simply naive and sadly lacking in wisdom.
Why do people think they know enough to suggest gun laws or express
opinions about gun laws who know nothing about guns? These same people
would not dream of suggesting legislation or expressing opinions about
whether Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) is better or worse than
orthogonal frequency multiple access (OFDMA) wireless transmission.
These same people would not dream of expressing opinions about what anesthesia ought to be used or ought not to be used when numbing
thumbs prior to sewing up a bad cut. |

All of them gungrabbers are stupid morons. They are showing beyond a doubt that fact by running they're mouths and not know having a clue about what they are talking about. An assault weapon is anything you can put your hands on to assault someone with. It can be a rock, baseball bat, a car, ax, your fist. What was described earlier as an assault weapon isn't an assault weapon. It is a select fire. Automatic or semiautomatic fire weapon. It is not an assault weapon. It is misnomers like that that they are counting on to get our guns. I;ve also heard that now they are going after our ammo. Trying to get 300 % tax on factory ammo. And 100% tax on reloading components. They can't get our guns because of the constitution. But, the constitution doesn't cover the ammo. If we can't afford to buy the ammo. Then we can't use our guns. I'd like to walk into the house with a hammer and quote the one post. And, ask why cars and hammers aren't outlawed since they have killed more people than guns have. |

Not sure which house you would like to walk in, but if it is one with Ms. Feinstein are any of the other gun grabbers, you will most likely be shot by their security detail for having a weapon. Ironic ain't it. jack

I came across this in reading the opinion line (anonymous) in my local newspaper. Ruffled my feathers. "In situations such as mass shootings, untrained people don't have the ability to assess and process whats happening quickly enough. Laypeople cannot adequatly comprehend what actions are reasonable. Relying on gun-toting people to fight gun-toting people is a design for more disaster."

I guess they prefer cops like the ones in NYC who managed to shoot 9 innocent bystanders when they were attempting to shoot an armed killer from 3 feet away!!!!!!!!! I know that wherever that little red laser dot is lit up, is where my .45 acp round is going to hit!!!!!!!!! |

Before I moved from Arizona. I sent an email off to John McCain and a few other of our reps asking them why is it that rights that us vets either put our lives on the line for. Or, were willing to put our lives in harms way for are in jeopardy of being taken away by the few who never came close to serving this country in that capacity. I didn't receive a reply from anybody. |

I don't know if Feinstein owns a gun or if she still holds a CCW. And I am not sure if I would be calling for the release of that info. any more than the public release of any other gun owner. Now haveing said that, if she is pushing her anti-gun agenda as she is, it would be interesting to know if she indeed owns a gun. And if she does what is her intent in taking ours. Be it handguns or what they are calling assault rifles. How many remember the attempts at banning , controling handguns the Antis tried. They opposed CCW, because there would be gun fights in the steets. Mass killings by crazed CCW holders becoming angery, or shooting up the steets in running gun battles. Anybody remember all that?
The only places three have been mass killings in the steets are in, for the most part gun free zones. Zones where law bidding CCW holders can not legaly carry.I am not advocating carry guns on planes, But wern't those planes on 9-11 gun free zones, not that it matters, but the places where they crashed more or less gun free zones.
And because maybe one or two people are shot, in areas where CCW is allowed and some one with a CCW stopped it, it does not make national news. It is never told how many people are saved by CCW. Few want to compile that info. or face the antis critism, name calling and the rest of the BS that goes along with that. Because the Antis will stop at all most nothing to make a point right or wrong true or false. They fear and hate guns of any kind, and will work any angal to get them banned, they believe they are right and the ends justify the means.
The anti-gunners will never admitt they were wrong, there have been no mass killings, with running gun battles in the steets as they predicted. Much less that crimes rates have dropped in areas where CCW is permitted, and gun laws are more relaxed.
Now it is fare to say there are many on the pro-gun side who will never admitt they are wrong about anything either. But they are not trying to take a right, felt by the founders as an inalienible right. And not to just hunt or protect ones self from criminals, but the Government its self. You know the antis laugh at that part, but when you think about an should be pointed out. Their very actions, and if banned then the need to take the guns by force, of law bidding citizens does that not qualify, as to what the 2nd Amendment is there for.
The antis laugh and make fun, when a pro-gunner says gun free zones are magnets for crazed gun man. They say they well most likly kill themselves or are killed, and they are prepared to die. The thing of it is, They do not want to die or be killed before they make their statement or what ever. They want to kill as many as they can before someone kills them, they know it will take the Police a little while to get there and sort out what is going on. Most shoot themselves after someone with a gun arrives, or they are stopped by somone with a gun. Don't know what was going on with the shooter in CO. but at his frist hearing he didn't know what was going on several days after the shooting. And I do not think it is standard pratice to dope up criminals to the degree he appeared to be. |

Forwarded A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY TO THINK ABOUT.......December 29, 2012 marks the 122nd Anniversary of the murder of 297 Sioux Indians at Wounded Knee Creek on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. These 297 people, in their winter camp, were murdered by federal agents and members of the 7th Cavalry who had come to confiscate their firearms for their own safety and protection . The slaughter began after the majority of the Sioux had peacefully turned in their firearms. The Calvary began shooting, and managed to wipe out the entire camp. 200 of the 297 victims were women and children. About 40 members of the 7th Cavalry were killed, but over half of them were victims of fratricide from the Hotchkiss guns of their overzealous comrades-in-arms. Twenty members of the 7th Cavalry's death squad, were deemed National Heroes and were awarded the Medal of Honor for their acts of [cowardice] heroism. We hear very little of Wounded Knee today. It is usually not mentioned in our history classes or books. What little that does exist about Wounded Knee is normally a sanitized Official Government Explanation . And there are several historically inaccurate depictions of the events leading up to the massacre, which appear in movie scripts and are not the least bit representative of the actual events that took place that day. Wounded Knee was among the first federally backed gun confiscation attempts in United States history. It ended in the senseless murder of 297 people. Before you jump on the emotionally charged bandwagon for gun-control, take a moment to reflect on the real purpose of the Second Amendment, the right of the people to take up arms in defense of themselves, their families, and property in the face of invading armies or an oppressive government. The argument that the Second Amendment only applies to hunting and target shooting is asinine. When the United States Constitution was drafted, hunting was an everyday chore carried out by men and women to put meat on the table each night, and target shooting was an unheard of concept. Musket balls were a precious commodity and were certainly not wasted on target shooting . The Second Amendment was written by people who fled oppressive and tyrannical regimes in Europe, and it refers to the right of American citizens to be armed for defensive purposes, should such tyranny arise in the United States. As time goes forward, the average citizen in the United States continually loses little chunks of personal freedom or liberty . Far too many times, unjust gun control bills were passed and signed into law under the guise of for your safety or for protection . The Patriot Act signed into law by G.W. Bush, was expanded and continues under Barack Obama. It is just one of many examples of American citizens being stripped of their rights and privacy for safety . Now, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is on the table, and will, most likely be attacked to facilitate the path for the removal of our firearms, all in the name of our safety . Before any American citizen blindly accepts whatever new firearms legislation that is about to be doled out, they should stop and think about something for just one minute- Evil does exist in our world. It always has and always will. Throughout history evil people have committed evil acts. In the Bible one of the first stories is that of Cain killing Abel. We can not legislate evil into extinction. Good people will abide by the law, and the criminal element will always find a way around it. Evil exists all around us, but looking back at the historical record of the past 200 years, across the globe, where is evil and malevolence most often found? In the hands of those with the power, the governments. That greatest human tragedies on record and the largest loss of innocent human life can be attributed to governments. Who do the governments always target? Scapegoats and enemies within their own borders &but only after they have been disarmed to the point where they are no longer a threat. Ask any Native American, and they will tell you it was inferior technology and lack of arms that contributed to their demise. Ask any Armenian why it was so easy for the Turks to exterminate millions of them, and they will answer We were disarmed before it happened . Ask any Jew what Hitler s first step prior to the mass murders of the Holocaust was- confiscation of firearms from the people. Wounded Knee is the prime example of why the Second Amendment exists, and why we should vehemently resist any attempts to infringe on our Rights to Bear Arms. Without the Second Amendment we will be totally stripped of any ability to defend ourselves and our families. Subject: Thanksgiving 2022 "Winston, come into the dining room, it's time to eat," Julia yelled to her husband. "In a minute, honey, it's a tie score," he answered. Actually Winston wasn't very interested in the traditional holiday football game between Detroit and Washington . Ever since the government passed the Civility in Sports Statute of 2017, outlawing tackle football for its "unseemly violence" and the "bad example it sets for the rest of the world", Winston was far less of a football fan than he used to be. Two-hand touch wasn't nearly as exciting. Yet it wasn't the game that Winston was uninterested in. It was more the thought of eating another Tofu Turkey . Even though it was the best type of VeggieMeat available after the government revised the American Anti-Obesity Act of 2018, adding fowl to the list of federally-forbidden foods, (which already included potatoes, cranberry sauce, and mincemeat pie), it wasn't anything like real turkey. And ever since the government officially changed the name of "Thanksgiving Day" to "A National Day of Atonement" in 2020, to officially acknowledge the Pilgrims' historically brutal treatment of Native Americans, the holiday had lost a lot of its luster. Eating in the dining room was also a bit daunting. The unearthly gleam of government-mandated fluorescent light bulbs made the Tofu Turkey look even weirder than it actually was, and the room was always cold. Ever since Congress passed the Power Conservation Act of 2016, mandating all thermostats - which were monitored and controlled by the electric company - be kept at 68 degrees, every room on the north side of the house was barely tolerable throughout the entire winter. Still, it was good getting together with family. Or at least most of the family. Winston missed his mother, who passed on in October, when she had used up her legal allotment of life-saving medical treatment. He had had many heated conversations with the Regional Health Consortium, spawned when the private insurance market finally went bankrupt, and everyone was forced into the government health care program. And though he demanded she be kept on her treatment, it was a futile effort. "The RHC's resources are limited," explained the government bureaucrat Winston spoke with on the phone. "Your mother received all the benefits to which she was entitled. I'm sorry for your loss." Ed couldn't make it either. He had forgotten to plug in his electric car last night, the only kind available after the Anti-Fossil Fuel Bill of 2021 outlawed the use of the combustion engines - for everyone but government officials. The fifty mile round trip was about ten miles too far, and Ed didn't want to spend a frosty night on the road somewhere between here and there. Thankfully, Winston's brother, John, and his wife were flying in. Winston made sure that the dining room chairs had extra cushions for the occasion. No one complained more than John about the pain of sitting down so soon after the government-mandated cavity searches at airports, which severely aggravated his hemorrhoids. Ever since a terrorist successfully smuggled a cavity bomb onto a jetliner, the TSA told Americans the added "inconvenience" was an "absolute necessity" in order to stay "one step ahead of the terrorists." Winston's own body had grown accustomed to such probing ever since the government expanded their scope to just about anywhere a crowd gathered, via Anti-Profiling Act of 2022. That law made it a crime to single out any group or individual for "unequal scrutiny," even when probable cause was involved. Thus, cavity searches at malls, train stations, bus depots, etc., etc., had become almost routine. Almost. The Supreme Court is reviewing the statute, but most Americans expect a Court composed of six progressives and three conservatives to leave the law intact. "A living Constitution is extremely flexible", said the Court's eldest member, Elena Kagan. " Europe has had laws like this one for years. We should learn from their example," she added. Winston's thoughts turned to his own children. He got along fairly well with his 12-year-old daughter, Brittany, mostly because she ignored him. Winston had long ago surrendered to the idea that she could text anyone at any time, even during Atonement Dinner. Their only real confrontation had occurred when he limited her to 50,000 texts a month, explaining that was all he could afford. She whined for a week, but got over it. His 16-year-old son, Jason, was another matter altogether. Perhaps it was the constant bombarding he got in public school that global warming, the bird flu, terrorism, or any of a number of other calamities were "just around the corner", but Jason had developed a kind of nihilistic attitude that ranged between simmering surliness and outright hostility. It didn't help that Jason had reported his father to the police for smoking a cigarette in the house, an act made criminal by the Smoking Control Statute of 2018, which outlawed smoking anywhere within 500 feet of another human being. Winston paid the $5,000 fine, which might have been considered excessive before the American dollar became virtually worthless as a result of QE13. The latest round of quantitative easing the federal government initiated was, once again, to "spur economic growth." This time, they promised to push unemployment below its years-long rate of 18%, but Winston was not particularly hopeful. Yet the family had a lot for which to be thankful, Winston thought, before remembering it was a Day of Atonement. At least, he had his memories. He felt a twinge of sadness when he realized his children would never know what life was like in the Good Old Days, long before government promises to make life "fair for everyone" realized their full potential. Winston, like so many of his fellow Americans, never realized how much things could change when they didn't happen all at once, but little by little, so people could get used to them. He wondered what might have happened if the public had stood up while there was still time, maybe back around 2012, when all the real nonsense began. "Maybe we wouldn't be where we are today if we'd just said 'enough is enough' when we had the chance," he thought. Maybe so, Winston. Maybe so.

"I don't know if Feinstein owns a gun or if she still holds a CCW. And I
am not sure if I would be calling for the release of that info. any more
than the public release of any other gun owner"
CK, the reason for my question about the CCW is twofold.
First, I haven't heard anything about stripping people of their CCW's, but that doesn't mean that DiFi hasn't proposed it. If she has then my second point is moot.
The second point is if she hasn't I at least for myself want to keep the facts straight. Not to be misunderstood, I am certainly not in favor of the proposals on gun restrictions that I've heard thus far. But I also don't want to muck up the waters, I want to stick with facts at hand, not spread false info that fans the flames.
Many like to refer to history in cases of gun control. Okay, lets look at recent history. In the 90's every one was saying the same things they are saying today. "If we give them an inch they'll take a mile". Did that happen? No it didn't, in fact things have actually gone the other way since then.
Again, not to be understood, I feel that this is very serious because of it's potentiality. I understand that things could have turned out very different. I just don't want to get caught up in a frenzy of misinformation, I want to stay focused on the facts, and the task at hand today.
So as said, if DiFi is currently going after CCW's too, my second point is moot, if she isn't going after CCW's, I'd like to keep my eye on the ball.

Feinstein was on the news last night going into a little more detail about the assault weapon ban. She said it listed 158 guns, included were semi auto rifles, shotguns, and hand guns. Nobody needs a gun that they can hold at the hip and spray off 45 rounds in under a minute she went on to say. |

Jb: Yes I did mean the house of representatives. Your probably right. I probably would get shot trying to make a point. Healey: First, I like that short story. That's basically what's going on in our country right now. It's leading up to that. And, nobody seems to either see it. Or, care that is happening. We are slowly being turned into a bunch of sheep content to let the government take care of us, and let the government do what ever it wants to us. As far as the massacre at Wounded Knee. The 7th Cav came out of Ft. Riley Ks. When they left. Custer told them not to change the post until he got back. Well, he never did return. Back to my main point. There is a monument on the post in remembrance to the men who were killed at Wounded Knee. It's over in the same area where they have an enclosure for a couple of bison. In case you haven't already figured it out. Which you probably already have. I was stationed there twice. |

I recently learned that none of the current gun control bills would have any effect on the members of congress. They conviently exempt themselves. I truly believe that one more amendment to the constitution is needed to disallow congress passing any bill that does not equally affect them. I was reading online the other day and found that 69 precincts in Philadelphia, PA did not have one vote for the Republican presidential candidate. I also saw some precincts in many states had more, some much more, than 100% of voters casting votes. It is time for voter ID and even term limits. |

The vote counts are the results of having George Soros' companies either leasing the voting machines to the states, tabulating the vote results, or a combination of the two; on top of voter fraud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
