Anybody know where I can get some stiffer clip springs for my Ruger SR40c? It's jamming up when it tries to load the last shell of the clip? One is a 15 capacity and the other is a 9.

Most of the newer clip followers are plastic or some material other than steel. Try taking the clip apart and look for a small imperfection or something that may be dragging against the clip wall. Just take a fine grip sandpaper and smooth the sides. Also, dirt can hang then up. Hope that works.

Http://www.brownells.com and http://www.midwayusa.com both should offer the parts you are looking for.

First, you don't have a "clip", it's a magazine!!!!!!!! Clips are metal strips that ammo can be locked into and then the clip can be shoved down into a magazine in a gun such as an M1 Carbine. What you really want is a magazine spring!!!!!!!!!!! Please don't get caught up in the anti-gun crowds rhetoric and contribute to spreading their false information!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tgwb, the terms "clip" and "assault" have become my biggest pet peeves, so I apologize if I sounded abrasive with my comment. It's those terms that are being bandied about in the media that contribute to the misinformation and propaganda of the antis.

Not a problem rthomas4.We have enough trouble with antis being misguided ,I have just always called them either a clip or a magazine and almost put magazine but figured it really didn't matter. Wasn't thinking about the media.

Rt that's a stripper clip!!! M-1 Garand had a spring clip. Over time magazines started to be called clips by most folks. So the term became interchangeable in common vernacular. The problem with magazines/clips is over time the springs become weak and can cause a jam. I can't speak for Dawg but we didn't load our 16 mags to full capacity To increase out rate of fire we'd find 50rd mags and load 40rds. Because when the stuff hit the rotary osillator a jam is the last thing you need.
