I shot a cow elk on opening day about 1½ hours into legal hunting in NM Unit 34. I used my Remington 673 Guide Rifle in .350 Remington Magnum. Load was as follows:
225 grain Nosler Partition
57.3 grains Win 748
CCI 250 Primer
Remington Brass
COL 2.800"
~2575 fps muzzle velocity (chronographed load)

Range was 52 yards, shot in left shoulder. Elk dropped as if all four legs were yanked out from under her. Bullet broke shoulder, traveled through lung and heart, and exited a couple ribs back behind right shoulder. Exiting bullet took out rib and left a silver dollar size hole. Not much meat damage at all. Did not recover bullet.
