I am down to my last planning days and wondering if I should invest in a pair of wool pants for this trip I have 2 pairs of polyester pants I am taking but wondering if I might fair better with wool. I am backpacking so weight must be a consideration? I will be in area 14 around Clark and Steamboat Springs, the first 2 weeks of September (bowhunting).

Hey LBH. I would pack the wool pants also. I just heard that the long range forecast for the last week in August and the first week in September calls for a major cool down and change in the weather pattern. We all know that the weather people are always right but ass I have said before, better safe than sorry. The more comfortable you are the more enjoyable the experience. I hope the forecast is right. Should get the rut going a bit early. I am going up on the 4th and will be just on the other side of the divide from you. Good luck!
