My neighbor built a house in the woods adjoining my land. Too close to my usual bait site. Thus, I need to move to a new location. I have always baited just off the edge of the swamp in the woods. I have a location along the same swamp a quarter mile away. I have an existing opening that I have used as a food plot that is 30 yards by 40 yards in size. Has anybody used an opening like this for a bait location, or do you feel the site would be more consistent back in the woods. Thanks for your opinion. |

The swamp edge of several of my food plots have been used successfully to bait bear several times over the years. A food plot, because it usually has a road for a tractor, quad or pickup, often allows a person to enter and leave a stand without being seen or heard. It also allows a person quick access for baiting purposes. I like that. The down side, in my case at least, is that the deer seemed to avoid the bait site area for several weeks after we quit bear baiting. |

That is what I figured. The years I bait bears it always seems to have an effect on the deer. Good to hear others feel the same way. Thanks for the reply I do like easy access for baiting and quiet access in and out of the stand. |

When I used to bait bear.. I always liked to bait near water if possible. It seems bear like to hang out in wet area, and low lands. As for moving a bait, the bear will find it. And if they are in the area, they will come into them. Good luck.

I always set up my bait site where is was easy access for me, let the bait station do what it dose bring in hungary bears. |
