...or you can visit a friend or relative who moved to South Florida and just kill one that gets into their swimming pool. You have to be on the QT if you do, though. The fines average $1000 per foot, plus confiscation of gun, vehicle and any other equipment in your possession at the time...........if you get caught! |

Or apply here in Georgia and if chosen in the drawing the cost for a permit is $50.00 and they are plentiful in South Georgia and along the coastal areas. www.gohuntgeorgia.com for the rules and regulations. |

SC has a non-refundable application fee of $10.00, and if chosen the license will cost $100.00. No guns are allowed, until the 'gator is hooked and ready to bring into the boat. Archery tackle, and treble hooks are the only legal methods. |

You can do an alligator hunt cheap in FL if you know what you're doing. They have a program where you can get an "assistant" alligator permit which allows you to go out with one of the state certified alligator trappers for problem gators. That license is only about $50 and is available over the counter. Plus, the problem gator guys can hunt year round since they are specifically after problem gators that have been reported as such to the state. I did one of these hunts in 2007 in Naples FL. Had a blast and we took 3 gators that day. I arranged to get the skull mounted on a 9 footer and also got a bunch of the meat. It's a lot cheaper to do this way than thru a booking agent. All you have to do is make contact with one of the problem gator trappers and set it up. Since their pay for removig the gators is the skin and the meat, they don't get any compensation from the state and many are willing to take people out for some extra cash. If you then want the meat and skin you simply pay them the going market rate. They really don't care since they are selling them anyways. |
