It is annoying, I was thinking they needed to inflate the #s of entries.

Pop-ups annoy the P out of me. I don't need that screen popping up 7-8 times as I try to navigate around the web-site.

I agree that pop ups are anoying but guys you really should not say mean things about Miss Bachman. its okay to state openions but it should be done with class. After all we are not a bunch of mean spiritted people hear. I do agree that the pop ups are anoying and make it hard to navigate the web site. nahc should see to it the the advertisements for the promotions and giveaways and other things are factered in on the homepage in there own little place and that they don't pop up when we are trying to navigate to a specific page.. when these pop ups happen it makes me mad that I have to type in the adress again or hit the back button and click on what I want to see again. And if It happens alot I get even madder and get out of the site and never mind what I was actualy trying to do. Something have to be done about these popups so that we can use this site more effectively and not be so agrivated.

what do you mean by inflate entries? are you saying number of people entering the club or entering the contest for the AR15? Im just a member like you are and can't fix any thing here. Im just curiouse about what you are meaning. you can email me if you want with that social inbox thing or just leave your comment on he forum page.

Inflate entry #s by having the entry page show up everytime you came to the site and again after you logged in, many people would enter twice EVERY time they wanted to come to the site. Many companies do similar things. The giveaway was for a DPMS, maybe DPMS gets the # of entries totaled, looks like NAHC has more active members online than actual ... Not saying that is the case, just that other companies have done such activities in the past.

dcarter11, obviously, you aren't aware of the public scandal she was involved in a little over a year ago. Between MB, and our former (good riddance) leader, Bill Miller, there was some bad PR for the NAHC and hunting in general! It was so bad, that she was shuffled under a rug for a while.

Now there's the sidebar menu for facebook and other social network sites that block access to the forums page if you don't have a wide screen monitor. I can't access the fourms from my home computer anymore.

grandpops, go down to the bottom of the home page and find the black section that provides all of the connections on the site. You can get to the forums from there, as well as on the middle of the home page, near the poll section and Scoutlook.

I guess with enough people complaining about something, they do take a look every once in a while. The pop-up ad didn't show up when I accessed the home page tonight and the sidebar bookmark didn't take up as much of the monitor screen.

Thanks for your suggestions on how else to access the forums. We sometimes get in a rut with how we become accustomed to doing things and are blind to other ways to achieve the same results. I always go to the "Connect" drop down menu tab, and click on the "Forum" selection. I'd forgot about it also being in the other locations.

For me this morning I had to reboot for maintenance reasons and when I started FF back up I tried to go to just www.huntintclub.com instead of directly to the forums page and apparently the crap is still on that page. I didn't see the full ad as I'd blocked it but the FB, Twitter, etc buttons were still there and the Connect button was still no where to be seen...

Steve, sometimes it takes a few seconds for the connect button to show up.......usually due to the pop-ups and splash screens being downloaded!!!!!!!!!! I always go to the home page so I can enter the contests, check for inbox and alerts, then drop down from the connect button to access the forums, unless it's later in the day and I'm going to the Scout Look portion first.

I enter the contests from the forum page and the inbox and alerts are at the top of it too so I very rarely ever go to the spamhouse... oops, I meant home page... ;-)

They're still there. If you click on the "Contest" tab at the top of the page the pop-up advertisements still comes up. And the sidebar Facebook/Twitter links are still there, it's just been fixed so if you don't have a wide screen monitor they don't show up. I don't see the sidebar links on my home computer but I do see them on my office computer.
