After receiving the most recent junk from HOLSTED JEWELERS I would not give this to my dog as a collar tag. How in the world did the CLUB team up with this outfit in the first place? The jewelry and the "FREE GIFT", a blank card, yahoooo!, of course MADE IN CHINA!
As a Life Member I have noticed over the years there have been more and more items offered thru the club that are not made in the U.S.A. WHY IS THAT?
We do NOT NEED IMPORTS ! KEEP IT IN AMERICA !!!!!!!!
DON'T BELIEVE ME GO TO MADEIN USAFOREVER.COM
Thanks,
Ticked off AMERICAN,
Doug Wuchnick

I'm new here, but your post caught my attention so I hope you don't mind a newbie proudly boast about 'Made In America' products... MINE!
Once there you will find 3 item every guy needs in his Man-cave... A one-of-a-kind Camo Lamp with the customers very own Antlers proudly attached, and with matching Camo Lamp Shades (can be bought seperately), and finally, matching Camo Throw Pillows.
Everything is hand-made by me except for the electrical components.
Hope you all like em. If you have an idea for a custom Lamp for your Man-cave I'm more than happy to work with the customer to come up with a design that is both original and darn near perfect.
Obviously I agree with the idea of 'Made in America'. This country may have fallen behind the Chinese in making stuff, but the stuff we do make is the best in the world. Now if we could only get the Government out of our way we could go back to making lots of stuff and create lot's of good paying jobs.
Glad to be here!

I think what all this boils down to is that it's up to the individual. The club is here to make money, if they can save a buck by buying a knife made in China they will. I do try to buy American when possible. I'm often surprised that by taking an extra minute in the store I find an American made product that is often cheaper, or not much more money and is better made. |

I remember seeing smaller Buck knives, blister packed, that were labeled "made in China", never considered buying one, but in the end, it often comes down to the cost of doing business. |

Most of the Deer Antlers being used for China products are coming from India. As of today there is no way of knowing where Antlers are coming from unless you are lucky in two areas. 1. The Antlers are large enough you can certify with certainty that they are North American. 2. You have the time and luxury of DNA testing. (this will almost never happen unless you are a government wildlife agent)
The Antlers we use are supplied by the Hunter/Customer here in the USA. They use my services to help show-off their latest harvest in a way that differs from traditional taxidermy. Imagine a Man-Cave with two table Lamps on either end of stretched-out Man-sized couch. Now imagine each Table Lamp having one half of your latest trophy rack attached to Camo styled Lamp with popular Camo designs on the Lamp Shades, and to top it off the very same Camo design on the Throw Pillows for the Couch! Pretty cool huh? http://www.CarolinaCamoCreations.com |

I don’t read through these forum pages very often because I have found that they are mostly a place for folks to complain about everything they can think of. If folks aren’t complaining then they are yelling at each other. I am as red-blooded American as anyone out there and I love buying and receiving things that are made in the USA, but you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Simple fact is that the phrase “Made in the USA” means “I cost more”. If you are concerned about where it was made you will need to pay up and that’s fine. The question was asked why more items offered THROUGH the club are not made in the USA and the answer is in the question. These are third party offers where a vendor wants to offer a discounted rate to club members. NAHC passes on the discount it you want it. I get all kinds of adds from NAHC but find that I am capable of determining if something is made in the US or not. Before you ask the club to only offer things made in the USA you should first ensure that none of your current possessions are made anywhere else. It would be hypocritical to use a foreign made phone or TV and then demand that someone else only offer things made in the US. And, lest we forget 4th grade geography, North America includes Canada and Mexico so as long as items were made there they should be fine.

I just wish people would learn to spell "Schrade" correctly and so would Schrade. Oh, and don't buy Anschutz or Beretta or Benelli or CZ or Remington 798s or SIG or HK or Mauser or Glock or Bernadelli or Merkel or Krieghoff or FNH or Walther or Rossi or Springfield Brazilian-made pistols or any other of that cheap foreign-made crap. Thank you. |

Most people don't have any problems with items manufactured in Europe or South America. It's the fact that Communist China that manufactures so many of the NAHC items that people are offended by. Some of the companies mentioned above, also have manufacturing and corporate offices located here in the US. A prime example is FN is located and primarily operates out of Columbia, SC. There, they not only manufacture many of the FNH handguns, but several Remington products as well. Schrade, is Taylor Knife Company from Tenn., many of their products are made here in the US, but the largest percentage are manufactured in China. Afew of their products use blades and steel from their old plant in NY that are shipped to China for assembly and finish work. |

All we can do as Americans is try to find USA products when we are on foot shopping, if everyone at least tries, I'm sure it'll make a difference. Speaking of, anyone know of a range finder made in USA? Also just got a sweet book from NAHC made in Minnesota with a lot of info in it, called Whitetail Wisdom. At less than 8$ I'd buy it again if I lost it!! |
