Are you still receiving your magazines? How often do you visit this site? Have you used the "contact the club" button at the bottom of this page, and sent them a PM about your problem?

If you are still getting the mag, then they at least have you as a member. If you can log into this site, and it doesn't show your membership status as a LM, then go into your account, enter your profile and see what it says, and if it isn't correct, redo your membership # and it should come up as a LM. If none of that works, then send them a message, even if you have to send one every day, until the problem gets fixed!!!!!   If none of those work, then PM Webmaster Shawn, directly he seems to be a pretty decent guy when it comes to solving member;s problems for the most part.

Remember, no one from Management, or Customer Service actually reads any of these forums, so other than venting to other members, you aren't going to get much in the way of results by posting problems here.

I hope I've helped you with your problem, and good luck!  BTW, welcome to the boards, I see this was your first post!!!

I'm just curious, what happens when your life membership is cancelled everytime you turn around? Do you get renewal notices, does the mag stop coming or what? I've never had a problem like that, been a LM since '94.

Good question, G. And who sends the club your death certificate? Do they have their own death squad looking for lifers who croak so they can cancel their magazines?

Rumor has it, when the club wants to increase profits, they go out looking for us Lifers when we're in the field hunting, and see to it we become another hunting accident in the field.  Not sure if it has any truth to it though.........

A guy missed me by about 3 feet last year.  He ran, but I got a quick look at him and he looked a lot like Bill Miller.  I'm not worried about it anymore, because Miller is such a lousy shot.

Shawn,

Take a look at this months "contest" items (click & win) and their discribtions.

Just another example of why there is a lack of confidence in "our club" ???

What a joke! Hey, they got the last several correct. That's about what you would expect from this "CLUB", ha! I love the top deal where it says click on the contest as fast as your trigger finger allows. That's real fair to people that have to work for a living and have limited time on the site! This "CLUB" is one big farce!!!

I thought it was just me !! I too joined this club, under the prospect of field testing equipment, in stead I am constantly barraged with unsolicited items to either purchase or, I have to take the time to return them to the Post Office and have them sent back, A continual annoyance and inconvenience. Furthermore, I am now being threatened with suspension if I don't pay them for a calendar, a calendar I NEVER recieved nor WANT....too late now, we have spent hundreds of dollars joining...but I will not recommend it too my friends and hunting partners !

Send them an email By clicking on "Contact The Club" at the bottom of the page and tell them you opt out of all that stuff being sent to you and you will keep anything else for free under the Postal Regulations if they keep sending things. Then print and keep a copy for your records in case it continues happening so you are on legal grounds. If you don't do that you will keep getting stuff until you die and you will be legally liable to pay for it or send it back under the terms you agreed to in fine print when you joined.

I figured I would let every one know, since I complained in public, I will advise you of the corrections. I was sent an E-Mail, informing me that the Calendar Bill has been rescinded, and my account is now in order, and they apologized for the inconveniences. As far as product testing, I must re-submit my profile, how ever, there is still a problem there Three times I filled it out, three times i tried to submit and three times it wouldn't go through. I assume this is a problem with the web site NOT the club. I also will be going to theirContact the Club page and opt out of the unsolicited items, Thanks japar. Thanks to the Club people that are keeping up on our complaints.

An crap in the mail regarding that I could test new stuff out, if I was willing to pay another dollar A month This club sucks! OHA is a much better organazation

I have been a member since 2009, Life member, now Trophy member. I have had a couple of issues with billing, but for the most part, I've had no difficulties. Also, I have gotten numerous knives, lots of freebies, and have tested some products.
I like to read most of the magazine, and about the only thing I don't read is the articles on dogs. I don't hunt with dogs, don't run dogs, and except for being pets, don't have any need for the articles. I wish they'd make that section every other issue, or something like that. Also, some of the articles deal with how to hunt on public land for elk and pronghorns, predators, and upland game. That information is almost invaluable to me.
I have a few authors of articles I really enjoy reading, like Mark Kayser, Gordy Krahn, Luke Hartle, Bob Robb, and a few others. They give good information to laymen.
I have gotten alot of good advice from the forums on this site.
I don't watch the shows, because I won't hunt with the "outfitters" the people associated with NAHC use. I can't afford them.
All in all, if you take the whole package together, it's really not that bad of a deal.

That depends, and I may need some help from the other members on this. If you just applied say in the past month, it could take up to 2 or 3 months. In the winter months the club only sends mags out every other month. In the other months it is every month. You can call customer service, and they will give you the exact day of issue releases and the projected days of shipping, as well as the anticipated date of delivery to your address. I have done this in the past, and they were pretty accurate. + or - 2 or 3 days.

jwright; I had the same thing happen with having 2 membership numbers. It was partly because I joined the club, (First number) then within 3 months upgraded to LM.(Second number) Straightened itself in the following months. But I still have 3 different "Member Since" dates. Depending where you look in my profile. Trivial to me and it doesn't affect any of my entitlements.

I have been a member since 1995 and have never encountered the number of problems that I have seen listed here. In all my member years I have been billed once for something I didn't receive. I simply wrote on the billed that item was never received and it was taken care of. I receive very little solicitations. I did have alittle issue setting up my online account but it was taken care of quickly and easily. The only issue I have had is that I NEVER seem to receive anything to field test or any kind of promotional samples. I guess that is no big deal but I do feel alittle left out. Other than that, I love the magazine, the information and you guys that post crack me up.

I don't necessarily think the club is lousy, but after becoming a life member about 10 years ago, over the last few years, I don't really matter to the club any more. (except for all the attention that the North American Fishing Club keeps giving me to join them) I've asked for a new membership card several times to no avail. They seem to keep sending me crap to they want me to buy though. Go figure.

Never had a problem with the club. I have been a lifemember for years and years and..........ya'll get the point. If i receive something in the mail I didn't order, which happens occasionally, I don't even open it,just send it back. The rainsuits and knives and backpacks I have ordered have all been at a good price and have been good quaility. Paying in installments have been nice also. The "testdrives" have been interesting and ya'll must send back the questionaire back with some sort of input to be able to receive more chances. The times I have "forgotten" to pay for calenders and such I have received notices in the mail as reminders and as long as you pay them they are not too nasty about it. No complaints here.

One more time! Read my lips! Go down to the bottom of the page, click on "Contact the Club", and send them a pm! The NAHC does not read or pay any attention to the forums. When you post on these threads, you are posting to the membership, and we can't do jack sheit to help you with any issues with the company!!!!!!!!!!!! It wouldn't hurt if you were to actually read your membership agreement, either. In it the company explicitly states "allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery". With the NAHC, that translates into about 12 weeks, due to processing and shipping.

You gotta fill out the tester form to get the stuff to test. It's doesn't come automatically. I do agree that I can't stand the unsolicited "test for a time and buy or return" the item. The last one I got was a knife that as soon as I opened it and read that it was a buy or return item I taped it back up and stuck the return label on it.
I got the usual bill that is mailed out a couple days after the item was mailed to me, which I ignored. About two months after the bill, I got credit for the returned item.
At least this club doesn't waste my money by mailing me a couple of letters each month to send more money like the NRA does. I suppose I'm targeted in that club because I'm a benefactor life member.

I'm a life member, 20 plus years I guess.  At first I got alot of "Try it before you buy it" junk and books and collector coins.  I wrote the club and told them to knock it off, or I'd drop my membership.  I haven't received anything I didn't order, since.  I've also gotten some field gear to test - much of it gimmicky junk, but I guess I was the only one testing that thought so, because I'd see the item show up in the "Field Tested - Member approved" section of North American Hunter Magazine.

But, overall, I feel the NAHC does a great job representing hunting and hunters.  My life membership payment was well spent.

No one is going to believe this.... I have sent at least two (2) letters to this "CLUB" informing them NOT to send me any further unsolicited mechandise, I have even been on this Forum, complaining about the LOUSIEST CLUB I have ever been affiliated with, and, now are you ready for this ?? Now they have started to send me hunting DVD's....What do you think ? Did they hire some one down there that flunked an IQ Test ?? You people were told NOT to send me any unsolicited merchandise, but you ignore it. I live in the country so, for me to return this crap I have to drive to the Post Office...from now on, you will get a bill from me, for Postage fees and gasoline , not to mention the time I send returning this tripe.
Liike the rest of you, I joined at the prospect of Field Testing..I haven't field tested anything, and have filled out the TESTERS Form several times...instead I get requests to upgrade for additional money...or more crap to send back...hmmm I think, by law, if you are told to STOP sending unsolicited merchandise, that I can keep it as a gift...maybe I should do that, I reckon that might be easier than taking the time and money to return it, let alone sending them a bill for my time, gas and poatege...After all, they will probably ignore that like they ignore everything else./

Don't say "like you" because I did NOT join hoping to get a windfall of free stuff. That's just plain stupid, and anyone who joined for that reason is stupid and should STFU!  Did you send them a letter, registered receipt requested stating to stop sending you any non-requested materials or you would keep them and consider them gifts?  No? Well then get over it, you signed on for mailings when you joined. Get over it.

Failure to either return them or paying for them is a crime. Thirdly, as Steve said above, READ the DODGAMNED threads, and you might actually get the answers to your questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

personally i don't understand why all the whining going on here. i joined the club 23 years ago, became a lifer 20 yrs ago. never had any of the problems i have been reading on this board.
i remember when i joined the club, you had to request a form to fill out if you wanted to be a field tester for the products they offer. granted that there is a waiting list, and remembering that the club is 850.000 members strong, it has thousands of members on the list. so it could be a very long time before you would be sent anything to test. as for the other problems about books and mags, as mentioned by japar, just send an email to the club about your problem. it may take a while to get a reply but it will be taken care of...

Now I feel left out since I have not complained! I was sent a small knife to field test in about a month or 2 after I joined. Promptly returned my field test opinion ( it was suprisingly a good small knife ). The part I had a problem with was when I started getting billed for stuff I never ordered and never received. When I emailed the club about it I was told to not pay til the stuff arrived, the only thing that arrived were bills for yet more stuff I never ordered nor received! The next email I sent resulted in an email from them saying they could slow it to once a month! Other than that I have no problem with the club. I am still hoping they decide to send me a fully complete upper for an ar 15 in 6.8 spcII for a free field test! I don't want to be greedy and hope for a new truck ...

Go up to the questions forum and then look for the post by TLC that provides the link. The last time I looked, I believe it was the 12th or 13th thread down the page. There isn't a link on this club website for requesting the freebies.

Welcome to the NAHC, and please join in on these forums, you might especially enjoy the miscellaneous forum further down the page.

On that note, holly I couldn't get that link to pull up. Maybe it was making things to easy for us to get our "free" stuff, IDK.

Only problem i have is receiving things i didn't order. I might even purchase some of the collector stuff if it was made in America. But I don't collect made in Japan or China hunting accessories. Some of the knives aren't bad for practical usage, but cheaper at flea markets.

Ditto!  I have again recently contacted NAHC for assistance with the same problem and they have replied that the problem has been corrected...again.  I had contacted them several months ago to stop sending unsolicited items and it stopped for two months then started up again. I just recently sent back two items and they have taken the charges(including the late charges) off my account. Again I have been told that I will not be receiving anymore unsolicited items. Maybe this time they have corrected the problem. Response was much quicker this time and by all appearances it seems that the company is hopefully correcting legitimate member complaints. I will be watching to see if there is actual improvement or just empty words. The company by design is good and I hope it will continue to improve to retain membership participation.  Good hunting to all and wish everyone a great hunting season for 2012!
Our methods and weapons of choice may vary but we all have the heart of a hunter in common.

Holy Crap! I am about ready to go through the roof. I joined in 1992 and became a LIFE MEMBER soon thereafter. I liked the magazine and that was about it I guess. About 5+ years ago the magazine quit coming. I have contacted them at least ten times to ask them what happened. Twice by phone and the rest via email. I have NEVER MOVED, my address has been the same the entire time. Every time I contact them I tell them the same story and they tell me the same story...the post office is returning the mail as undeliverable. They refuse to tell me which address they have on file and I give them my current address which has never changedc and they say to allow 2-3 weeks for my magazine. Of course, the mag NEVER COMES! Either they have the biggest morons in the history of customer service answering emails or it is entirely automated based on key words. Today was the topper!  After telling them a million times I have NEVER moved they suggested I call the National Change of Address Database to get my old address out of some data base!

Are you freaking kidding me? I have decided this is the most incompetent, worthless organization in the history of organizations!

Check with your local Post Office. There are a lot of anti-hunting and anti-gun activists who work there. Someone there could be behind your problem.

I don't know what you all are doing wrong. I have no complaints about this club. They have given me everything I was supposed to get, and have never gotten anything I didn't order. Go back and look at your account and see if YOU might have signed up for something you didn't want. Heck, I think the magazine and forums are worth the price if you go and look at the price of the mags on the store shelves you will see this is a heck of a deal.

Welcome to the boards and the club bpincock.
If you joined just for the possibility of getting free stuff, then you came to the wrong place. If you joined for the magazine, information exchange, share outdoor/hunting experiences, and learn from the vast knowledge base, then you made a wise choice.

Happy hunting

Thank you ch. I appreciate tithe welcome. I am an avid, though broken down hunter.

Never hunted whitetails. We have muleys mostly around here. I am considering those whitetails though for this year.

How about you? What are you hunting this year?

Davros11 member since 2011/ LifeTime Member since 01/2012

I have only been around for a year now, and had only one issue, a missing coin, which i got a week later in the mail after I let them know through a quick phone call.

I receive stuff all the time but send back what i don't want, at no cost to me.. I have not had any billing issue's at all. As for the StuffStuff program, it works, I have tried out about 6 or 7 things since i have joined, some knives, some repellant, firestarter,Shoot-Thru rifle scope cover,sandwiche,shooting-targets,camo jacket, all came shipped well, no damage, worked well, filled out questionaire on website, selected next item to test and it came.. and so on...

I have to admit I do enjoy the books, they may have some fluff in it about their great hunting experiences, but they do have a wealth of info, and are very well made with great photos... As for the Magazines i enjoy them too, i keep several in the truck for long drives me and my family take, also long drives when going on hunts..

As for the website, i find it great, and informative, and you gotta love Bachmann, she is hot!! Ha..Ha.. had to throw that in

I am in southeast Idaho, just west of Yellowstone Park. Beautiful area, but the wolves have done a number on the game. At least now we can hunt them.

bpincock: wow, wolves are wiping out Yellowstone?!? That blows!  You can't hunt 'em in the Park can ya?

I do hope you are able to get out and chase everything. Those surgries can be a real blessing, and it can also be apain in the button. I hope yours goes well.

Steve:
We can hunt outside Yellowstone Park, but not within. We have our challenges with them. I am not for anialation of them. It is nice now though that we can manage them by hunting.
