Will someone tell me what the A/O is used for on a scope. I have a 4x12-44 A/O I keep it set on 100yds and never move it. I just would like to get full use of it but are not sure about it.

Adjust your objective to the distance you are shooting at.

This will compensate for any minor "change" in your head / eye position while looking through your scope.

That is the benifit to having an adjustable objective !

If you shoot at 50 yards with your objective set at 200 yards, your point of impact will NOT be where you put the cross hairs (it's happened to me with a coyote that was a "chip shot" normally) !

The same is true if your objective is set at 50 yards and you are shooting at 200 yards.

SDOWLING;  Would it do that if it was set on infinity also?  That's where I have my 4x16x50 set. I figured it would work for all ranges.  If I'm wrong.  Which it looks like I am.  I would definately change the way I'm using it.

Here's another site that describes parallax and it's adjustment.
