  • Levi missouri ghosts Hey all! I'm currently stationed in the Army at Fort Bliss, TX. I'll be out and back home in Neosho, Missouri just in time for deer season in October. I plan to have a better season than last year since I will have more time. No chance for "The one that got away" story this year.

  • outdoor_myers Military Hunters I would like to first thank you all for serving. I know this is for military personal only, and I didn't know how to send a message to ask if I can join, My wife is an Iraqi vet and a captain in the Oregon National Guard, she is an amazing woman and I wanted to connect with some military individuals so I can get a better understanding of the military life. We have been married only for a month so far and she has been on active orders and sent away for a whole month. I know thats nothing compared to a deployment but she might get deployed next year so I would like to prepare myself for that on both fronts.

  • outdoor_myers Oregon Hunters New to Hunting and new to the Salem area. I recently got married to an amazing woman who is a Captain in the National Guard. I'm looking for hunting and fishing buddies. My interests is everything and anything! I currently only own a shotgun for waterfowl and upland. I am looking into bow hunting. Its been my dream to hunt since I was 12; however, in Iowa you had to take a hunter saftey course and in my county they only offered it twice a year, and every time it came up I was either "grounded" or my mother forbid it and as I got older I had to work! I have my sportspac and very enthusiastic about getting out there this year!

    • DOC1963I am located in The Dalles over in the gorge. I am an experienced hunter (50 years of age) and really enjoy all aspects of hunting including Bow, Rifle, Pistol, & Black Powder. I will most likely be hunting the White River WMA or the national forest near Wamic. If you are interested in bow hunting, and need a starter bow I have an older one I would sell cheap if it fits your needs as far as draw length. Call me it interested in hunting together or in the bow 719-452-0787.

    • outdoor_myersThanks doc! I am looking into getting into bowhunting most likely the Santiam unit since I am allowed to harvest either bull or cow and buck or doe I believe. My birthday is on the 16th of September so I am looking forward to either bagging a big game or do some early season goose hunt on that day if I am not working! My draw I'm not sure its probably between 26-28" and poundage maybe 65lbs.
      2:55 PM June 07
    • DOC1963The draw length on the bow I have is 29"-31" so it would probably not work out for you if you are correct on your draw length. It is a 50-70 lb bow. I have a friend that was going to try it but his draw length was 26" and it would not work for him. I am open to hunting in any unit in the western part of the state. White River WMA is the only place I have looked at thus far. I too have a SportsPac license and Santiam WMA sounds interesting. I will do some research into the harvest stats and so forth on it. I might be interested in making it my area of choice.

  • Pongo Indiana Whitetail Hunters I hunt Noble County public land. Was lousy for deer last year. Archery, muzzleloader, and firearms. I saw 3 deer total. No shots.

  • Pongo Indiana Hunting Just found this group. I live, work, and hunt in Noble County. All public land. No luck with deer last season at all. I saw 2 does, all hooves and tails. One nice buck beginning of archery. But I was going to set up a blind... So no luck. I hunt squirrel, rabbit, coyote and deer. If anyone has any suggestions on hunting public land, let me know.

  • wweeks11 rthomas4 How long does it take them to approve someone?
    • rthomas4I'm not sure I understand the question. For facebook, and StuffStuff, all it takes is a few minutes to fill our the registration, no approval is required. To get a test item from SS, you just pick 10 items based on your point totals and then it might be a week, a month, a year, or a decade before you get picked to test something. Oh and if you're talking about the new Friendly Hunter site, it takes Paul 24 hours or less to get new registrations approved.
