I’ve recently taken a renewed liking to Twitter, and after catching up with old tweeps (Twitter speak for "Twitter peeps"), I started to do a little searching for new kids on the block or old kids who I never had the chance to connect with. In the process, I stumbled across a cool new smartphone app called “SafeToCarry."  The app does what the name suggests: It tells you what businesses in your area or across the U.S. allow concealed-carry permit holders to carry on their premises.

If you have a smartphone and live in Louisiana, turning in wildlife violators just got a whole lot easier. Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) recently launched an app for Android phones that allows you to report outdoor-related violations in association with their existing tip411 program.

Here at NAHC, we're running our first-ever “Social Choice Awards.” We’re putting six of the finest turkey guns and six paramount turkey loads in the running for the top spot in two categories: “Magnum Gobbler Gun” and “Strut-Stopper Load.”

Here’s a quick update about the North American Hunting Club in the social media world: We have accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube ... and in January, we started an Instagram account.

I know, I know I’ve been slacking here with my Win, Win, Win posts. Well I guess I can’t change what’s already happened so I’m going to keep trugging forward and give you the latest and greatest sweeps, giveaways and contests I’ve come across.

Wow, time sure flies. I could swear it was just yesterday when I posted the Prime Shift LR sweepstakes, but as I glanced at the calendar this morning I realized it ends Sunday. You know what that means ... you better hurry up and enter before it’s over.

In the February/March 2012 issue of North American Hunter, we held a "You Call The Shots" contest featuring the photo at left. More than 100 NAHC members participated, but only two were rewarded for winning submissions. Check out Shane Keenan's first-place submission in the June/July issue of NAH.
