The 2013 SHOT Show has come and gone. One of the last gear highlights I'd like to share from the event comes from Leupold. They've expanded their famous VX-6 line of riflescopes to offer a 3-18X50mm—a fresh offering that should make long-range shooters and hunters grin.

The upcoming April/May 2013 issue of North American Hunter will feature an intriguing article from Joe Arnette in his "Hunting Dogs" department. Joe will highlight some thought-provoking research about the social structure of wild wolf packs, which might prove contrary to what you think you know about wolves.

It was barely 20 degrees on this late-December morning in western Wisconsin, but the radiant warmth of a propane heater and full concealment of a ground blind were more than enough to keep us comfortable. Huntworth is a new brand hoping to make a major mark in the hunting apparel market. They're already making huge strides with big-box retailer distribution. I tested some of their prototype threads last season, and overall I was impressed. The Huntworth balaclava was a life-saver during my brutally cold Montana elk hunt. Their Stealth Series gloves also proved to be warm and extremely comfortable.

If you're familiar with any of the folks at Mossy Oak, there's a good chance you've heard of Bobby Cole. He's a devout hunter, TV personality and president of the BioLogic brand. In his spare time, he's an exceptional fiction writer. I've read his suspense-filled first book, The Dummy Line, and now there's a follow-up called Moon Underfoot.

Hurry! You can enter to win one of five copies of Moon Underfoot; just click here to access the entry form. You need to sign up by the end of the day today to be eligible to win. Good luck.
