Entries for 'SocialMediaEditor'
Most of us have become accustomed to Facebook, Twitter and other social sharing websites. But did you know that—even beyond forums—there are several smaller social sites dedicated solely to hunters?
Wow, time sure flies. I could swear it was just yesterday when I posted the Prime Shift LR sweepstakes, but as I glanced at the calendar this morning I realized it ends Sunday. You know what that means ... you better hurry up and enter before it’s over.
Alright, I’m back at it. I’ve kept my eyes and ears open and scoured the Web and social media sites for any worthwhile sweepstakes, contests and giveaways I could find for this month's edition of “Win, Win, Win, And Win Some More.” I know you'll like what I have in store for you this month.
Do you use Twitter? Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or just starting out on Twitter, these 25 Tweeps will get you on the right track—and help you get more from your Twitter experience as a hunter. Many of them are bloggers, but all are great hunting folks whose posts I’m sure you’ll enjoy. I’m even going to throw in a couple of our staff members from the NAHC.
As you’ve probably figured out by now, we have some pretty darn good giveaways—and this one is no slouch. After reading the title of the post you already know what the prize is. But if that’s not enough to get you salivating like a hungry bruin, these details just might:
From here on out, on a monthly basis, I want to provide all of you with something I think you'll appreciate. I’m going to dig around online and via social media to find as many hunting-related sweepstakes and contests as I can. I'll give you a brief description of each opportunity, as well as a link to find them.
I'm completely wound up! This will be my first year going on multiple turkey hunts, and I’m pumped beyond belief. At the end of the month I’ll be heading down to Texas, and later this spring I’ll be off for my yearly Minnesota hunt.
Are you into food plots? Maybe you’ve always wanted to plant a plot on your hunting property, but need an extra kick in the rear-end to get started. Either way, this is a giveaway you can’t miss.
Social media is an ever-emerging medium that affects almost everyone in one way or another. Essentially, it all started with website forums, then MySpace and now Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube and countless others have emerged as powerful leaders in the space.
These dynamic media have completely changed the way we receive information and, as hunters, the more info we can gather to improve our game, the better. On top of that, the speed at which modern social media is transmitted allows us to quickly sort through the info we’re not interested in or isn’t relevant at the time.
I’m taking a step away from the normal social media bit today to share some joy I recently experienced. During the weekend, as I was working on the house putting up some trim, I heard my 3-year-old son, Wyatt, playing with his toy guns. This isn’t anything too out of the ordinary, but I thought I’d stop for a bit and listen to what he was actually doing.
