You’ll see plenty of clever commercials next weekend during the Super Bowl, but I doubt any of them will showcase guns and shooting turkeys like this classic from Mountain Dew.

According to the person who posted it on YouTube, this is the first-ever TV commercial for Mountain Dew. I can’t verify whether this ad ran in 1966 (I was only 1 at the time and drinking something other than Dew), or whether it was the first Dew commercial, but it looks authentic to me. And please don’t post comments about the unsafe gun practices shown in this ad; you’re preaching to the choir.

Note: To save you a Google search, color TVs became popular in the late 1960s and early 1970s, so many viewers would’ve seen this ad in black and white.
