It looks like a nice compact sharpener with a few extras to it. I would give it a try.
Wednesday, January 02, 2013 2:57 PM
Looks like a great item for a day pack or even a coat pocket. I have a Lansky set for my bench in the basement, but nothing really portable. I also don't have any experience with Worksharp products, but maybe Gordy can change that.
Wednesday, January 02, 2013 4:06 PM
I have the worksharp power model and this would just make it even better. Get it sharp at home and take this out in the field to keep it sharp.
Wednesday, January 02, 2013 4:37 PM
work sharp = Great products
I have one of their other models and it is great. I would love to give this a shot as well.
Wednesday, January 02, 2013 5:35 PM
It sounds like they engineered the product real well. I would definately carry it in my daypack or waist belt. Thumbs up from western ny!
Wednesday, January 02, 2013 6:19 PM
I like the leather strop feature. A lot of people put a rough edge on their knives and leave it at that. A leather strop or a flat piece of frosted glass puts an amazing finish on an edge. With this sharpener, I could hone a knife so sharp, it would cut you just by looking at it!!
Wednesday, January 02, 2013 7:34 PM
to have agood sharpener that will go in your pack is great it looks like it will be easy to use.
Wednesday, January 02, 2013 8:24 PM
Always looking for a compact, quality sharpener. This looks like it might be a very nice product. Looks like a well put together piece of gear that a person can use at home or in the field. I would love to try it out.
Thursday, January 03, 2013 1:11 AM
perfect for the field. especially when you forget to sharpen your knives at home
Thursday, January 03, 2013 5:45 AM
This would be a perfect field unit to throw into the backpack for any hunting season. I have a Lansky kit but that is for sharpening when you have alot of time. The Worksharp Guided Field Sharpener would be for quick in the field sharpening. I would like to try it.
Thursday, January 03, 2013 6:05 AM
I've been sharpening all the knives for my family since I was about 12 years old and still have the same set of stones.I don't know where they came from or what brand they are but they have been the best until recently when I started having problems getting the edges as sharp as I like cause the stones are getting thin and worn out.Would love to give this system a try so if you could make it happen I would be very grateful.
Thursday, January 03, 2013 7:11 AM
Having three young hunters in the house I am always sharpening a knife for someone. This looks like a great product. Would love to try it out.
Thursday, January 03, 2013 7:39 AM
I process my own deer. Would be nice to use, to keep edge on knives. As we process the deer, we harvest.
Thursday, January 03, 2013 8:05 AM
I have trouble getting a good edge on my knives, I haven't found a good sharpener that I can use. This looks like it would do the trick. Thanks for the info.
Thursday, January 03, 2013 8:13 AM
Looks like a useable sharpener that is compact enough to carry with you in a backpack. Wouldn't mind putting it to use. Thanks for the information.
Thursday, January 03, 2013 8:37 AM
Looks like a nice unit. you should be able to keep a nice edge on your blades with it. It's nice that it has a leather strop. It's amazing how a strop will prolong an edge. I shave with a straight razor and the stropping aligns the edge and keeps it shave ready.
Thursday, January 03, 2013 8:42 AM
looks like a nice compact unit. Are they available in canada anywhere?
Thursday, January 03, 2013 9:00 AM
It looks pretty slick, I wonder how it compares to my good old fashioned one at a time step by step sharpener.
Thursday, January 03, 2013 9:08 AM
i have alot of knives through my years,i just cant get rid of any.alot need a good edge.hope to give it a try.....
Thursday, January 03, 2013 11:09 AM
I have been using my grandfather's oil stone since the 1970s and have not found anything as good. I would like to put this sharpener to the test.
Thursday, January 03, 2013 12:52 PM
Looks like the perfect accesory for the Tackle Bow, DayPack or WorkShop. The sharpener has alot of good features and is a size that is easily useable.
Thursday, January 03, 2013 12:55 PM
looks like it can sharpen everything you throw at it
Thursday, January 03, 2013 2:36 PM
HAPPY NEW YEAR Gordy; a field knife sharpener: how inventive it sure would be handy when dressing you game out. Work-sharp is getting a good reputation for making a quality product and I would make room for it in my back pack
Thursday, January 03, 2013 6:03 PM
I have tried thier shop sharpener and if this is half as good it would make sharpening in the field less of a chore
Thursday, January 03, 2013 6:06 PM
seems to be a perfect compact unit with everything you need to put and keep a good edge on your knifes
Thursday, January 03, 2013 6:49 PM
Always a useful tool to have
Thursday, January 03, 2013 7:11 PM

Thursday, January 03, 2013 8:34 PM
I have been sharping knives since i was 12 years old/using wet stones, old belts/steals/about anything i can find to bring knives to razor sharp so anything new to my arsenal will always be appreciated
Thursday, January 03, 2013 8:40 PM

Friday, January 04, 2013 6:36 AM
Always could use something to hone up with while in thr field. Looks like a good one. Thanks.
Friday, January 04, 2013 8:49 AM
Happy New Year, guys and gals! I put an edge on my knife using the tool after we shot the blog and it did a great job. Very easy to use and fool proof ... even for me and I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. They're listed for 35 bucks on their website but I found them as cheap as $28.26 with free shipping on Amazon.
Friday, January 04, 2013 9:57 AM
It's exactly the perfect portable tool for anyone who needs a knife sharpener. Easy to use, and sharpens great. Just what I've been waiting for.
Friday, January 04, 2013 12:36 PM
this is just what the doctor ordered. would go perfectly in the daypack/survival kit and you never have to worry about a dull knife again. should be a 'must have' for everyone who struggles to put a good edge on a knife
Friday, January 04, 2013 2:06 PM
Very versatile sharpener. I like the ease of having the angle guide. The leather strop is a nice touch as well. It appears to be extremely portable so you can take it anywhere. I will have to get on Amazon and give it a look for sure.
Friday, January 04, 2013 4:08 PM
nice i love it
Friday, January 04, 2013 5:33 PM
what is the price on the worksharp sharpener. it looks pretty handy
Friday, January 04, 2013 9:07 PM
Happy New Year to all. I, too have the work sharp belt sharpener at home and it is a great product, but you ever have a great day in the field with your buddies. They always seem to appreciate your blade and now you need just a little edge for your kill. It you sent the sharpener here, just maybe some good luck will come my way and help us all out.
Saturday, January 05, 2013 7:34 AM
I have - and use , A LOT - the Work Sharp Knife and Tool sharpener and I absolutely love it . I would greatly appreciate giving this portable sharpener from this fine manufacturer a whirl . They've converted me to an unabashed fan of their products .
Saturday, January 05, 2013 9:24 AM
Looks like a great shaperner, would love to give it a try.
Saturday, January 05, 2013 9:53 AM
Hopefully it works a great as it looks. Compact enough to take hunting because you never want to find out your knife is dull when you are in the field.
Saturday, January 05, 2013 10:42 AM
This is something EVERY hunter needs. Dull knives have no place in a hunters gear bag or pocket, dull knives will hurt you! We are always sharpening our knives to keep that fine edge on them especislly in the field when skiining and boneing out deer, Elk and other critters. There are many different types of sharpeners on the market these days. This unit looks like it has all the needed sharpening tools in one. What a great idea and usefull compact tool! I could lose some weight in my pack with one of these!!
Saturday, January 05, 2013 1:29 PM
I would like to receive this sharpener to use I clean and process my own meat. and one tool to do everything is nice so I don't got to get out all of the steels and whit rocks again I would use this many many time over.By the way I hope you had a Great Christmas and very bless and bountiful New Year.
Saturday, January 05, 2013 3:55 PM
It is a crying shame. I know it all for entertainment, but come on. Here is our Club President and a knife that will not cut the box tape. What happen to the saying, "Sharp Knife is a Safe Knife?" I think you need it more than us. Get that knife sharp and keep it sharp. Remember the old saying (see above).
I carry a pocket sharpener for just the occasion. Just ask our freight driver what I do when my Leather Man Surge does not seem sharp when inspecting our deliveries. I am constantly using the my sharpener at work and at home to open mail, toy packages, and to snip the stray strings on my wife blouse/pants. I even carry it to church on Sunday.
Saturday, January 05, 2013 7:21 PM
I recently dressed and quartered out 2 deer. This would have been my savor, as I ended up using 3 knives to get it done.
Saturday, January 05, 2013 9:23 PM
I have a worksharp belt sharpener, It works great. I suspect this would work just as good. I'm starting a sharpening business with my belt sharpener. Disabled and this works to be a great part time business
Sunday, January 06, 2013 5:59 AM
Something every hunter should have.A dull knife can cause more injuries then a sharp one.
Looking forward to a great year for all North American Hunt Club members, families and staff.
Sunday, January 06, 2013 9:32 AM
I allways like trying new sharpeners, I have really good ones and some not so good. Not only do I keep all the knives around the house sharp and half the hunters in our deer camp. Some people just find it hard to accomplish the art of sharping a knife no mater what they use. It is my openion a dull knife is a very unsafe knife, we all know the reasons --too much pressure to cut! I would truly like to try this one maybe it will be the right teaching tool and get more sells for the sharpener.
Sunday, January 06, 2013 6:20 PM
I like it i like it. would be handy to keep at my cleaning station on my boat or at my cabin. I like the five stages of sharpening, allows for the right sharpening of the right blade for the right job every time. I would love to try one out
Sunday, January 06, 2013 9:17 PM
I've got a lot of sharpeners but one that does it all would be nice.

Thursday, January 17, 2013 2:38 PM
Would have been nice to have one of these when we went elk hunting. We camp out so we use ours knives for everything. Started bringing extra knives along instead of the junk sharpners that normally come with knife sets. Would be nice to go down to just the skinning and butchering knives.
Friday, January 18, 2013 10:43 PM
Think you might need to use this sharpener before sending it out. :) Nice to have a portable sharpener for hunting trips.
Friday, January 25, 2013 2:21 PM
I'm constantly having to sharpen knives, tools, and other blades, usually with a different sharpener for each type of blade. This Worksharp sharpener all-in-one would be ideal when out in the field no matter what I'm doing. Wonder how it will work on my sisters messed up kitchen knives?
Thursday, January 31, 2013 4:33 PM
WorkSharp has great products for sharpening knives, lawnmower blades, scissors and just about everything else that needs a sharp edge.I would really like to try this product out, especially in the field.
Thursday, January 31, 2013 5:59 PM
Nothing better than a nice sharp blade on anything
Saturday, February 02, 2013 9:45 AM
This looks awesome! Would love to give it a try on my knives!
Friday, February 08, 2013 2:48 PM
The Guided Field Sharpener is the complete sharpener for afield or afloat. You can use it at home or in the shop; just don't forget to put it back in the backpack or tacklebox. To help you remember (or to keep it from walking away) it has a hole for a lanyard to attach it.
It has two diamond plates (coarse and fine), two ceramic rods (one large rod that rotates to three positions - coarse, fine, and fish hook groove - and one small)and a leather strop. Two sharpening guides (20 and 25 degrees) provide for a consistent edge. This takes care of hunting knives, fillet/boning knives, and fish hooks. It sharpens serrated and curved blades using the rods. It even has a broadhead wrench for bowhunting!
How good is it? Expect 2-3 weeks delay due to high demand.
Thursday, March 07, 2013 4:09 PM
Looks like would be very handy, i applied to field test to test the worksharp field sharpener but i would sure like to win it. i have a terrible time trying to sharpen my knives.

Friday, April 12, 2013 2:57 PM
I have several knife sharpeners such as the chefs choice three stage electric to ceramic rod type as well as several stone type sharpeners and a couple of carbide ones. This work sharp guided sharpener looks interesting and something I'd like to try out as I sharpen not only my knives but also those of others on hunting and fishing and camping trips. Some of the knives that I sharpen are quite expensive and of excellant quality and it takes a good sharpener to put a good lasting edge on them. Some of my knives are hand made and require a good grade of sharpener to put an edge on them as they are made from high grade carbon steel and high grade stainless and some emery stones don't even have any effect on them. I also own three knives with ceramic blades and would like to see if this sharpener would work on putting an edge on them
Tuesday, April 16, 2013 5:37 PM
Looks like what I've been looking for I'll have to go see if I can find one.
Thursday, April 18, 2013 11:18 AM
Sure would save having to carry 2 or 3 knives into the field, if it works as good as it says
Friday, April 19, 2013 1:34 PM
I, too have a worksharp home belted knife sharpener and I really love how easy it is to use - this portable field unit looks even simpler and would be an awesome addition to my hunting rig!
Saturday, April 20, 2013 3:10 AM
I would love to give it a try to see what kind of edge I could get my Knifes
Tuesday, April 23, 2013 3:47 PM
This looks nice I would like to see how nice it works.
Sunday, April 28, 2013 8:08 AM
I've been looking for a real good sharpener. Something that I could use on a lot if my knifes. The old stones are good but I want something better
Monday, April 29, 2013 8:32 PM
Its not hard to find a good stone its the knife sharpened that's the challenge. This looks like it could be a useful tool in the right hands.
Sunday, May 05, 2013 9:50 AM
I have several sharpeners, this one looks like it would be better than the ones I use. It would be nice to get one of these and see if it does really work.
Wednesday, May 08, 2013 1:55 PM
