Sneak Peek: LaCrosse AeroHead Hunting Boot

By: Josh Dahlke

Dec 20

In a blog post earlier this week, I gave a "Gear Nod" of approval to LaCrosse Alpha Lite rubber hunting boots. They're inexpensive, awesome all-season rubber boots. So, you better believe I was thrilled to receive an e-mail today with an early look at the LaCrosse AeroHead ... the new rubber boot on the block for 2013.

Here are some of the first publicly available images of the AeroHead:

The boot uses LaCrosse's new "AeroForm" technology. The goal is to revolutionize rubber hunting boots as we know them by (yet again) increasing comfort, flexibility and durability. Watch the video below to learn more about AeroForm.

According to Taylor Towne, my source at LaCrosse, the AeroHead was "tested over 4,000 miles to find little to no wear and consistent comfort and performance." The boot will retail for $130-$140.

I'll share more details about the AeroHead as soon as possible, so check back at my blog often.

I am a huge fan of LaCrosse boots and these boots sound like a great tool in my hunting inventory.

I own these boots, and have never been more satisfied with a pair of hunting boots. They are ready for the woods right out of the box ... no break-in period necessary. The minute I tried them on, I felt like I was walking around in a pair of expensive new running shoes. The fit is perfect and durability is top-notch. After 2 weeks of turkey and mushroom hunting, my feet stayed dry and comfortable the entire time.

The comfort provided by the AeroForm design is superior to any other hunting boot I have ever owned or tried. To say these boots were constructed with comfort in mind would be an understatement. Their level of durability and protection far surpass what I would hope for in an excellent hunting boot. The Armor Weld seal provides an extremely durable, waterproof seam between the neoprene inner-boot and the tough, yet comfortable and flexible, polyurethane exterior. After walking up and down hills all day in these boots, my legs and feet felt great and I was ready for more. This boot definitely redefines the traditional ankle-fit rubber boot category that I am accustomed to.
