Video: Deer-Truck Collision For The Ages

By: Dave Maas

Nov 09

As a hunter, you know that deer-vehicle collisions skyrocket this time of year due to the whitetail rutting season. Midwest whitetails are on the move in November, and sometimes that means right in front of your moving truck or car. In fact, both my wife and a co-worker in the cube next to me hit deer with their pickups this past weekend.

But as this video shows, sometimes there’s nothing you can do to avoid a collision. (Warning: The four-letter “s” word is used, so the video is PG-rated.)

The person who posted the clip on YouTube thinks the buck was blind, and after watching the video a few times, I agree that something was physically wrong with the deer.

Keep an eye on the ditches during your travels this weekend.

Until next time ...

The deer isn't blind, it's just thrilled that he voted for a winner!!!

Don't know where this was filmed but judging by things I have read that looks like signs of Cronic Wasting Disease.

I agree about the CWD, but the deer otherwise appears to be healthy. Have never seen a deer run around in circles like that, especially with a vehicle parked there running.

Looks like CWD if you look at the video it look like it's tongue was hanging on the side of it's mouth even though the CWD don't affect the meat I would of harvested him.

Absolutely early stage CWD, itching type pain is confusing, Don't know what else to do, like being stung by bee on his back. Ran into truck because his pain was distracting. Shoot, put deer out of misery & into my plate.
