not letting me watch it
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 4:31 PM
Good products are a handy way to be more comfortable. The more likely you'll stay in your blind or tree stand. Giving you a better shot at mister big
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 4:45 PM
Would work great for inside a tent or camper if cool enough to open windows etc. also for getting to your tree stand in the morning
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 4:48 PM
What size batteries does it take?
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 5:04 PM
I went camping with a friend that had one and was skeptical at first. We had two at a campsite near the TX and LA border, doing some late night fishing. I hadn't noticed any mosquitoes until I got so far from the campsite to check on bank lines. Mosquitoes were really thick and seemed to follow me back to the tent site. Once there it seemed they were gone again. I am heading to Maine for fall bear and moose season and will hopefully have one to take with me.
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 5:38 PM
i love camping out in the woods with my buddies and this is a sweet product to help get rid of the pesky mosquitoes when camping in the woods. I also thinkk that i would love to have one
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 5:54 PM
Boy would that be helpful. Living in the woods like I do I encounter many many mosquitoes and they just love to chew on me and my family that would be great for nights when we sit on the porch and look at the stars.
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 6:34 PM
At first glance this looks great… upon further investigation it’s not so hot. I can see where it would be nice in a camp but the only thing you are gaining is the light. It lasts as long as the regular units and covers the same area.
Recently, I saw a two pack of the regular units for the same price that this retails for. I would probably just buy two of the other units and use those in camp.
It looks nice and it does provide light but it isn’t as portable and does the same job.
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 6:39 PM
On a side note I have been told that Gordy’s guitar playing won’t keep mosquitoes away but it will keep other hunters out. I can’t say who told me because I promised Melissa that I wouldn’t tell… Um.
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 9:36 PM
The ThermaCell unit for hunting changed how I approach hunting. What a great device. We have gotten to the point that whenever we are outdoors, we take it along with us. Sitting on the deck, camping, etc. I think that the ThermaCell Lantern would be a good addition to our outdoor activities. Having had West Nile virus before, I know how important it is to keep these bugs away from me and my family.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 12:18 AM
A friend of mine had a house warming party during mid summer at his new house. He lives on the edge of a small wood lot and many farm fields. Sitting at the campfire would have been unbearable due to the number of mosquitosbut we tried one of these Therma-Cell lanterns and the dites decreased dramatically. I can say I only had a hand full of mosquito bites when it should have been a lot worse.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 1:50 AM
I have always wanted to try one of Therma-Cell products. I now thing this lantern would be a very great product. I hope I can get the chance to win this.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 5:48 AM
Could of used this 3 weeks ago.... got all bit up! And more rain, means more mosquitos. What is bow hunting going to be like??
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 6:14 AM
I have used the Therma-Cell products with great satisfaction. I've used them in Canada Bear Hunting to Brown Bottle Hunting around the Patio and Campfire. Went pretty much "Biteless" in all occassions.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 6:23 AM
Nice Metalica rendition Gordy! I hunt alot of swampy areas here in Florida, and the origonal Thermocell is always at the top of my equipment list. This lantern would be great for the campsite!
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 7:16 AM
Given that the Mosquito is known as the "state bird" around where I live in New Jersey I would love to have one of those lanterns. I do own one that is not a lantern that I use in the field...but this looks perfect for my tent or even my back porch...and I can personally attest that they do work well..I wish they could make one for ticks as well!
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 7:32 AM
Great item for keeping around camp, A must for cooking dinner without worrying about the mosquitoes.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 7:56 AM
I have multiple ThermaCell units, between myself and three sons an one daughter in law that hunts with me, it is a sure way of keeping the mosquitos of South Louisiana at bay. I have not bought a ThermaCell Lantern yet, but would surely like to try one out, but I am sure it is just as effiecent at the conventional units, with the capability of shedding a little light on the matter when needed.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 8:21 AM
The ThermaCells sure do the trick! I bet one of these would work even better? Haven't tried one but would love to see what all the hype is about.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 8:34 AM
The ThermaCell is a mainstay in my backpack, that's for sure.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 9:06 AM
The ThermaCell lantern is a great addition to any hunting/camping/fishing excursion. Can't wait to try it out!
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 9:25 AM
i dont own any thermacell products have had the will to jump in just scepticall would give the lantern a full test of vallor i live in minnesota moquitoes are the size of hummingbirds and i grill allot on the deck if its gonna work thats the place of ground zero hope anyone that gets this follows up and ends my skepticizm
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 10:12 AM
I am always looking for something to eliminate mosquito's. There can be a group of 20 guys sitting around the fire and i will be the only one getting attacked by those pests and to boot i have really bad reactions to their bites, so having a product that can keep them away is always a must for me for when i am sitting in a blind trying to be still and then at camp while trying to relax and not spend all of my time swinging away at those pesky bugs.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 10:37 AM
whe i am outdoors doing anything no bugs are a good thing ,and i love ggod things
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 10:45 AM
Been thinking about a Thermo Lamp. I live on a fixed income so can't afford everything I would like to buy. I heard the West Nile Virus is so supposed to be really bad this year. Would really like to win one of these so I can still enjoy hunting.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 11:14 AM
Aww man!!!! You mean no more annoying buzzing in my ear, and no more waking up with a strange bump on my forehead? What's a hunting or camping trip without that? Ok I'll take one ThermaCELL please!!!!!
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 11:41 AM
THAT LANTERN WOULD BE AWESOME I'VE TRIED REPELLANT STICKS AND THEY DON'T WORK SO WELL AND I DON'T LIKE USING SPRAYS ON MY KIDS PLUS IT CAN BE USED AS A LIGHT SO IT WOULD SAVE SPACE IT'S ONE LESS THING YOU GOT TO PACK.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 11:44 AM
I'm always the first person to get bit so this would be amazing!!!
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 12:17 PM
Omg No more mosquitoes bites without using that stinky bug spray
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 12:44 PM
Great idea for camping - I have the portable unit for hunting.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 1:38 PM
We used one yesterday evening and just before using it we were slapping mosquitoes continuly. We placed the Therma-cell on the table outside and had no issues with mosquitoes way into the night just talking. This would be great item for use in a blind and for camping. We plan on getting several more to place outside on our next cook out when we have the neighbors over.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 1:50 PM
I think I have sold more of these then some of the major stores around here. I can't stand anything more than the buzzing of a mosquito in my ear. Anytime, my friends, and neighbors are hanging out around the fire,I bring my ThermaCell Lantern out and all night no smacking or hearing the bugs. Also, early season bow season for white tail, the second thing on my packing list, after the bow, is my Thermacell, period.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 2:09 PM
I used one this year during turkey season while a buddy of mine was hunting same piece of property about 500yds. from where iwas setup. After about an hour into the hunt he called and asked if i was ready to go because he was getting swarmed with gnats and mosquitos, I told him no because i brought a thermacell with me and wasn't having an issue. Needless to say; for the rest of the day I had a hunting partner to my left the rest of the day
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 3:44 PM
I've been dying to try one of these. We have a pond at our house and the mosquitoes can be brutal at times. The idea is an awesome one, but I'm a little skeptical about using it in the tree stand. The fear of any scent being emitted makes me nervous.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 4:19 PM
With West Nile virus peaking. Thermacell is the answer.
Use my portable for hunting. No doubt in this product's capabilities.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 4:28 PM
I know the cheap one I got at walgreens works awesome, I wonder how this one will stand up?
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 4:37 PM
This will be a great addition to my outdoor gear!
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 4:45 PM
I've used the smaller Thermacell unit in my blind and during NE Ohio summers, the coyotes would have heard me slapping and cussing a half mile away. The mosquitoes around here can almost pick you up and carry you off. This lantern would be just the thing for our little campsite out back where we like to entertain, cook out and just sit around a fore with some close friends and a few adult beverages.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 6:02 PM
How well does it work on a beezey day ?
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 6:56 PM
that would be cool to try one on these i love my thermacell.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 7:01 PM
Oh that would be so handy....so useful. Have had very good luck with every Thermacell product!
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 7:29 PM
I from Texas and at the present time we are under atack from mosguitoes carring the west nile virus. I highly recomond everyone do your up most to protect you and most of all your family. The desiese control center has now reported hundreds of cases with 19 deaths just in our state. Winning one is not requirement for but I want to put the word out please floks do not take this threat lightly. The thermal cell is a good weapon to battle for your safty and that od family and friends.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 7:31 PM
Looks great to me. I use the handheld devices and they are great.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 9:40 PM
I have used the personal ThermaCell devices and they work great. However, I've only used it for spring bear hunting at a much lower elevation. I've heard that their effectiveness is not as good at higher elevations. So for the addition of a little bit of minimal light, I personally don't see a pressing need for the lantern.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 10:12 PM
I've used the unit at camping spots that are thick with the little flying pains. It worked very well. Though the area that they stayed away was not much more than 15 foot circle.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 10:27 PM
I could use that st work even.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 11:25 PM
Its cool that you can use it as a light too
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 11:33 PM
This product sounds great. It would be nice to enjoy an evening outside without bug spray's.Thanks for the TIP
Thursday, August 16, 2012 12:07 AM
I have used one and it worked great for me.
Thursday, August 16, 2012 6:25 AM
Thermacell there is no substitute!!!
Thursday, August 16, 2012 7:53 AM
your product is great and makes it easy to spend more time outside. thank you thermaCELL
Thursday, August 16, 2012 8:00 AM
The thermacell personal appliance works wonderfully , it has allowed me to spend more time in the field without the irritation and possible infection by mosquitos. I should hope a lantern would do the same for my back porch , the blood suckers have been thick this year . They have made it difficult to enjoy a burger and an ice cold adult beverage outside .
Thursday, August 16, 2012 8:20 AM
It sounds like it works far better than the frogs that I've been carrying arround on my outtings to eat those miserable pesky vermitts. Thanks for the insight
Thursday, August 16, 2012 8:26 AM
My friends and I go camping with tents every other weekend. They buy Lantern products and talk about how good they are and compact. I would love to have the ThermaCell Lantern. The light and the Mosquitoes killer I can really use.
Thursday, August 16, 2012 9:04 AM
I have personally used Thermacell unit while hunting deer, turkey and while I'm doing my backyard work. I think Thermacell has driven the bugs a little "buggy" for a change, just like the old saying, "Never leave home without it" or come home looking like you just had Chiken Pox. Having the lantern would mean enjoying my friends around the campfire longer.
Thursday, August 16, 2012 9:29 AM
I'd like to win one of these for my Wife she really has a problem with mosquitos. She swells up when she gets bitten, so she could really use one.
Thursday, August 16, 2012 9:34 AM
Question I just made a comment on the Thermocell Lantern, and saw it come up as a comment but I commented at 8-16-12 at 0931 but your date and time don't match yours was 8-16-12 at 1528 or 3:28Pm. So where are you located at.
Thursday, August 16, 2012 10:49 AM
We use this everytime we go camping or even just have a get together in the back yard.
Thursday, August 16, 2012 11:01 AM
This is a great device. I would like to see it also repel
ticks since we have a tick infested hunting area and having this along with mosquitos, black flies and no seeums.
Hopefully, it can be developed with this feature and we would use it in all our blinds and hunting cabins.
Thursday, August 16, 2012 12:48 PM
Looks like a great product, and would love to try it.
Thursday, August 16, 2012 3:28 PM
Thermacell and my bow are the only things I need when out hunten whitetail.
Thursday, August 16, 2012 4:00 PM
would like to eat some crow.
I thought this was a face book
By the way this would be great
for fishing since my hunts are
mostly in the cold
Thursday, August 16, 2012 4:28 PM
the thermacell looks like a great product to use during a hunting trip . looks real simple to use hope to try one out
Thursday, August 16, 2012 4:46 PM
Therma Cells are great product. I never sit a blind, treestand or around camp without one. I love the earth scent that they offer as well. This product does not scare away the prey at all! Therma Cell is a must for any outdoorsman!
Thursday, August 16, 2012 4:50 PM
Looks like a good product for camping...
Thursday, August 16, 2012 5:19 PM
I would love to try that
Thursday, August 16, 2012 8:28 PM
One I use and one I keep in my Bugout Kit.
Nothing like 'em. Work great!
Thursday, August 16, 2012 8:42 PM
Looks like a great unit for the patio - the only thing that would be better is if it would be kill the bugs!
Thursday, August 16, 2012 9:05 PM
Got to get me one of those so the family will sit outside when were camping!
Thursday, August 16, 2012 9:10 PM
These are a great product. I have family members who bring these to our family campouts. Couldn't believe it the first time I saw them.
Thursday, August 16, 2012 9:20 PM
Wonder if this works or just attracts more bugs like most lanterns. It could be useful for cat fishing if it works.
Friday, August 17, 2012 12:24 AM
I would to win this lanterns to show it off at hunting
camp. it looks cool
Friday, August 17, 2012 1:13 AM
Would love to get away from the traditional mosquito repellents, I am wanting to get my toddler out on a traditional camping trip and it would be a great asset to have a lantern to keep the biters away rather than having to soak him down with spray every time I turn around...sounds like a great product.
Friday, August 17, 2012 6:36 AM
would look great in my back yard- zero love for skeeters!!
Friday, August 17, 2012 8:38 AM
The guitar is a good way to switch things up on your blog Gordy! Sounded pretty good! I have two of the hand held appliance's and they work great use them when ever out in the woods or when the mosquitoes are bad out in the yard. The mosquitoes haven't been bad here in Northern Minnesota so far been dry up here this summer.
Friday, August 17, 2012 10:31 AM
I have used Thermacell's for years now and am very happy with their products. I have an old model lantern (first one they came out with) and it still works great today. Highly recommend their products for all sorts of family fun.
Friday, August 17, 2012 12:09 PM
I use Thermacell in all my shoot houses an tents I would not even thik of any thing else. We have laterens on the outside deck an never have to worry about bugs We love them.
Friday, August 17, 2012 12:52 PM
I would love to be able to try one of these thermacells have heard good things about them but haven't had the chance to use one. Hope the winner of it enjoys it. God knows I would.
Friday, August 17, 2012 1:33 PM
It does work great! So well that if you step out of the barrier it makes the mosquitoes are there waiting for you. One flaw is the on and off button. If you leave it on, there goes your butane and there goes your lantern for the trip.... unless you have a backup.
Saturday, August 18, 2012 10:09 AM
i have heard nothing but good things about the thermalcell but have not had a chance to use one yet. hopefully i will
Sunday, August 19, 2012 12:15 AM
I am also an avid fisherman, sometimes at night and I tell you the other thermacell repels most other bugs. This looks like it would be even better for the light it puts off.
Sunday, August 19, 2012 7:12 AM
Thanks for the posts! Tune in this coming week cause I'll be giving away one of the products from the past month.
Sunday, August 19, 2012 8:10 AM
A thermalcell is a must for hunting here in FL. I have waited until the skeeters were buzzing all around me before turning it on and they all left within a few minutes. It does not spook the deer as I have had many walk under my stand without a hint that they could smell it.
Sunday, August 19, 2012 11:56 AM
ThermaCELLS Lantern seems to be a good product, I like the light on the product. Can't wait to try one of these lanterns out with my kids.
Sunday, August 19, 2012 2:58 PM
I've never used one, but would like to. Who knows maybe I'll win one.
Monday, August 20, 2012 12:16 AM
My brotherinlaw and myself went fishing at a paylake the mosquitos and gnats were eating us up till he pulled out a Thermacell lantern. It made a beleiver out of me, Now I know I have to get one for sure. Thats all I have to say about that, Timothy Epperson
Monday, August 20, 2012 9:16 AM
Hi I'm a new member of north american hunting club, an so far i'm very satisfied. With everything i have seen.I watched the video on the thermal cell. An that little gadget would work great for them long nights catfishin, when i cant hunt in the summmertime.
Monday, August 20, 2012 5:16 PM
cool looks nice
Monday, August 20, 2012 7:28 PM
Maybe this is what I need for those early season archery hunts in south central Pennsylvania so that I don't get eaten alive while in my stand.
Tuesday, August 21, 2012 7:06 AM
I can not see taking it hunting, but camping or using it in the backyard would work out nice. I know the smaller appliance works well and you can also get it in camo.
Tuesday, August 21, 2012 8:35 PM
Awesome, I could really use one of these. The mosquitos in Florida are the size of a small bird
Tuesday, August 21, 2012 8:54 PM
THESE THINGS ARE THE GREATEST INVENTION SINCE THE AUTOMOBILE.THERE IS NOTHING ON THE MARKET THAT EVEN COMES CLOSE.THE GREATEST BUG BUSTER EVER.EVERYBODY SHOULD HAVE ONE OF THESE (OR 2.WHICH I'M HOPEFULLY GOING TO WIN ONE.)
Tuesday, August 21, 2012 9:34 PM
would work nice in the back yard by the fire pit
Thursday, August 23, 2012 2:29 PM
I agree with you Gordy, When Thermacell first introduced their Gadget to the marketplace, I was also skepticle it would work as advertized. As long as they have been around and the numbers of the handheld repellers they have sold tells you they work and work well. I don't know how much that new lamp / repeller weighs, but the worse mosquito problem I have ever seen was on an Alaska hunt and those critters were big enough to carry that lamp away! Maybe I could glue a 5lb weight to the bottom of it? Hmmmm.
Saturday, August 25, 2012 8:41 PM
Now we can see the light and not get bugged, thanks Thermacell
Sunday, August 26, 2012 9:33 PM
More effective than a bug Zapper. Just no sound effects.
Wednesday, September 05, 2012 8:16 PM
great hunting tool wish i could win one
Tuesday, October 02, 2012 6:07 PM
VERY LATE TO THIS PARTY BUT NO ONE HAS MENTIONED THAT THERMACELLS WILL NOT WORK OVER 4500 FEET
FROM A MOUNTAIN IN NEEW MEXICO
Wednesday, October 03, 2012 3:36 AM
products like this make hunting a whole lot easier THANKS
Monday, April 01, 2013 10:47 PM
No more kerosene, yeah!!!!
Tuesday, April 02, 2013 2:29 PM
i really hate deer hunting trying stay still and a dang mosquitos all over you!! would love to be mosquitos free while hunting.
Wednesday, April 03, 2013 6:44 AM
Camping, picnics, hunting, the uses for this product are various.
Tuesday, April 09, 2013 9:35 AM
This would be great way to light your way to keeping the bugs away while fishing or camping , or just sitting around the patio in the evening. A great device to have .
Saturday, April 13, 2013 8:21 AM
This would be great for the boat at night, the patio, anyplace where you need it.
Saturday, April 13, 2013 9:14 AM
Great to have for any outdoor function!!!!!!
Monday, April 15, 2013 12:15 PM
I live in northern Minnesota and killing Mosquitoes is a full time job, a new device in help with that job around the old hunt camp would be great!!!!!
I would be a rich man if I got paid for that job.
Saturday, May 18, 2013 7:09 AM
here in Michigan its bad this for Mosquitoes with all the rain we had.I need on bad
