That is some great advice. I know that for, me shooting a recurve, my max range is about 45 yards. I can keep my shots inside a paper plat at that range and any further I am lucky to hit the target at all.
I have also noticed that I need to aim slightly higher if I shoot from a crouched position as opposed to standing.
For me the ideal shot is 25 yards or less. This just means a little more work on my part to get in close.

A couple years ago I began practicing (and also with broadheads) out to 60 yds. Here in the eastern woods shots beyond 30 yds are rare. But my practice paid off last year when a beautiful 8 pt came in and stood broadside at 43 yds. I would have never taken the shot had I not been confident in it. But my Magnus Stinger slipped in right where the pin was as release. He only went 40 yds before expiring as the broadhead sliced off the top of his heart.
