I would have to agree that as a range bag it lacks the space to hold hearing/eye protection, ammo/extra mags, targets and other items that most of us take to the range. What I will say is that it makes a great gun cleaning/maintenance bag. Most gun cleaning kits come in a case with a handle and that means you have to hold it in your hand… a hand that might be trying to hold your other rifle. The strap helps to free up that hand. I would put extra tools that I might need to make changes/adjustments to my firearm in this bag and have a separate bag for the ammo and such.
Overall, I like it more as just a cleaning kit then a range bag.

I don't see this as a range bag. I see it more as a great bag for storing all your cleaning gear. I have amassed so many pieces over the years that it has become a jumbled mess in paper box. I think this bag would be great for getting more organized. It looks like it has lots of space for keeping allen wrenches and screwdrivers too. I see all sorts of possibilities with this.

I think that i would use it as a bag for all of my cleaning/maintenance supplies, but it would be put in my range bag or travel back as an accessory, not as the main bag, it just doesn't have the space for the guy/gal who is serious about shooting. I could see Joe Shmoe from the city rolling up with just this little bag to the range thinking he was hot stuff!

The lacks the space to hold hearing/eye protection, etc would make its role of a trave/storage bag. I do however love the cleaning supplies within. I do most of my shooting on private property so I drive in and drive out. This make the storage issue more of an inconvience than anything else. I still would love to add this to my hunting/cleaning items.

I actually received one of these in a giveaway a while back. The first thing i thought when I opened it up was " this is a little small." it definitely doesn't have a ton of extra room for gear, but it is a good cleaning kit. The msrp was a little steep I thought at 70 or 80 bucks, but a good little kit. The quality of the gear inside is superb though.

I'M with you on the range bag I see more uses as a travel kit expecially going out west seem to be well organized kit

Grody, Dude! I was abducted in the 70's also! How weird, maybe we were on the same ship! Was the ship you were on ran by Tall blond women aliens?
Back to the Remington range cleaning bag. What a great idea! I haul my cleaning supplies around in an old ammo can. Bulky, noisy in the back of the truck, everything is a mixed up mess when I open it up at the range. This item, well this is the Cat' Meow for a well organized, well equipped, easy to transport cleaning case. I don't think you mentioned the price Gordy? I like this product and I am in the market to purchase one. What is the retail price?
Thursday, August 02, 2012 9:41 PM
i agree this would make a great travel bag as it has every thing one would need to keep your guns clean while afield. i always carry my ammo in seperate bag would defently be a well used addition to any ones shooting supplies
Thursday, August 02, 2012 10:57 PM
Looks like a great travel kit to me. I would have to agree there just isn't enough space for a range bag. Usually when I'm headed to the range I take a large assortment of firearms and there just wouldn't be enough space carry all of the ammo plus hearing protection and targets. It does look like however it does include all the accessories to be able to clean that large assortment of firearms. Overall it looks like a great product. I wouldn't expect anything less from Remington.
Thursday, August 02, 2012 11:51 PM
Yea a travel kit or just a place to keep cleaning supplies. Not big enough to keep much else in it. Be a good thing to carry when sighting in a muzzle loader and need to clean it after a few shots
Friday, August 03, 2012 1:56 AM
I have several cleaning kits that I travel with. Having several different makes and models that I shoot on a regular basis requires many different tools. Also being in the military, you learn an appreciation for a wide variety of weapon cleaning tools. A clean weapon is a safe and effective weapon.
Friday, August 03, 2012 5:17 AM
I agree not a great range bag due to it size, but a cleaning bag to add to your range bag or equipement it would be nice to have. Cleaning your firearm at the range is part of the process for accurate shooting.
Friday, August 03, 2012 5:51 AM
I think this would be a perfect kit bag for a hunter who doesn't have a lot of room. I like the size as it would be perfect to put a couple of extra boxes of rifle or shotgun shells or maybe carry your binocs, range finder and keep it all together. right now I use a soft side tool box but I love the way this is set up with all the pockets and keepers for the brushes and accessories.
Friday, August 03, 2012 6:21 AM
This is a nice cleaning kit. Personally, I would just use the larger compartment for extra cleaning supplies and then place the whole thing into my much larger range bag when traveling.
Friday, August 03, 2012 9:42 AM
Great cleaning materials with bag. I would use this as a
concealed weapons bag on my cross state trips and around my state as well as a carry bag for cleaning my guns in target practice and skeet and trap shooting.
I carry my ammunition and other shooting accesories in a separate bag.
Friday, August 03, 2012 11:29 AM
I find my range bag too big at times a small one would be great.
Friday, August 03, 2012 11:46 AM
Wow Remington has came up with great on the go cleaning kit with a bag large enough to personalize it to your needs. Cool stuff
Friday, August 03, 2012 1:16 PM
You are a crack up Gordy. My parents were hippies in the 70's and suffer with the same 'abduction memory loss syndrome'.
As to the product, agreed that the volume is a little small BUT, it would be a welcome relief from the cleaning rod Christmas rack that is my range set up. I use one of the MTM plastic cases set up where you attach a firearm rest and it also has cleaning rod rests. A cable based cleaning system included in my range bag would be a welcome relief from the wilderness lean-too shelter like set up I have to construct when I go to the range. It really feels like you are building a shelter from your fellow shooters.
Great looking product and we could all use to shed a few pounds, even in what we carry to the range.
Bye for now,
Friday, August 03, 2012 1:49 PM
This bag would be ideal for as a travel cleaning and maitenance bag, i have to agree with everyone else that its a little small to carry all you need to the range, but would be great for that deep county hunt or deer camp.
Friday, August 03, 2012 2:31 PM
i dont know i have all kinds of cleaning kits of different shapes and sizes people think they make great gifts and they are right but there is such thing as to much looking at the bag i see not a claening kit but travel bag all the way would probable remove all accesories though
Friday, August 03, 2012 2:38 PM
Thanks for all the comments, guys! I looked up the price and MSRP is $79.99. The cheapest I found it online was $58.28. Go to Remington.com and look under the Products tab for more information on the kit.
Friday, August 03, 2012 4:43 PM
Hmmmm!!!
Friday, August 03, 2012 5:43 PM
that is a nice gun cleaning kit. i would use something like that when i go up north hunting to clean my gun so i don't have to wait until i get home to clean my gun.
Friday, August 03, 2012 7:25 PM
This is a nice cleaning kit, but way to small for a range bag. I am really interested in the Squeeg-e components. Has anyone used them? How did they work? All in all, a good basic cleaning kit to add to your range supplies.
Friday, August 03, 2012 7:47 PM
nice cleaning kit this would be a good bag to take on my opening day duck hunting trip.Me and my buddies go back in the woods for three days. Small and would take up little room in the back pack but has what you need
Friday, August 03, 2012 10:41 PM
Looks like a good bag to take into hunting camp, but like most have said to small for the range.
Friday, August 03, 2012 11:30 PM
It's definatly nicer than the Wal-Mart bag with miscellaneous odds and ends I use now! It would also help the kids I teach at the range to be more organized and do a good job cleaning thier guns at the end of the day.
Saturday, August 04, 2012 2:29 PM
I agree with most of the comments here that this bag is on the small size for an all around range bag. But as a cleaning kit, it would rock. Nice size and plenty of tool storage and zippered pockets to use as a cleaning kit/travel kit.
Saturday, August 04, 2012 2:58 PM
It looks good to me, it seems to have everything you would need if the occasion arose. I would purchase it.
Saturday, August 04, 2012 10:11 PM
I'll also have to agree that as a normal range bag it does not have the capacity you need for everything you may or may not take to the range. As a travel kit I think it would shine, with enough capacity to keep all your cleaning supplies centrally located, yet compact enough to conserve valuable space.
Sunday, August 05, 2012 12:13 AM
I would call this a hunting bag. When I go out with my hunting partners, this would be the bag to take along. Everyone has their own caliber rifle and pistol. With this bag , if someone forgets his kit, this would solve the problem.
Sunday, August 05, 2012 9:29 AM
on-the-road gun cleaning kit great idea.great for everything the shooter needs while on the move.
Sunday, August 05, 2012 9:51 AM
more of a cleaning kit than a range bag, but still a nice looking bag.
Sunday, August 05, 2012 2:53 PM
Like every body has said it lacks certian features to be a range bag but why focus on the negatives here on this bag? I love the fact that this bag has all the equipment to clean any of my guns from my new tomphson center pro hunter fx muzzel loader to my grandpas old J.C Higgins bolt action 16 gauge shotgun. Just to say i got that gun restored and it is a good looking gun. I would love to have one of theese cleaning kits in my connection to help maintian the old 16 gauge and keep its insides clean. Hey gordy if you are on can u post what website you had found that cheapest online price for this gun bc i would love to buy one. But Gordy i would love to tell the story to all my friends at the range about how i won this sweet gun cleaning kit. Any way i will try to get some pictures up of that J.C higgins shot gun up on the website i have to say again that gun is amazing to shoot and to put up on the mantel to look at.
Monday, August 06, 2012 4:00 AM
WOW!!! This sound pretty cool. The closed thing I have to this is my little gun cleaner kit that's in a little wooden box.
Monday, August 06, 2012 9:00 AM
I think it would work just fine for the guy like me who only goes to the range a hand full of times a year. Would be a lot better then the wooden box kits out there that you can't store any extra stuff in... :)
Monday, August 06, 2012 6:30 PM
Looks like a great little cleaning kit. I like the fact that pretty much everything you need is in one compact bag, even the cleaning mat for your bench. It is a little too small for a range bag, but would come in handy on the bench after a long day on the range or in the field.
Wednesday, August 08, 2012 10:33 AM
I have used this produnt before in the packablr one great kit and is dose a great job.I would buy yhis becuase i know it will be work great.
Wednesday, August 08, 2012 10:55 PM
No a bad little bag for cleaning supplies, but after looking it up on the Remington site I found they were asking $79.95 which seems a little step for me. It is nice that it comes supplied, but I could put together a bag with all the supplies and get everything I wanted for less.
Monday, August 13, 2012 6:23 AM
nice bag, looks like it can be used for other things to. it could be used on a hunting trip
Tuesday, August 14, 2012 4:54 AM
Nice lookin gun cleaning kit I need to get a new one bad. I just dont see why people are getting mad over something they could get for free?
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 8:25 AM
I think this would be a great travel bag to take along with you while hunting or a short range session. It has all the cleaning supplies stored in the bag to keep things handy and help keeping your guns clean. It may be small but for travel that would be great, throw in a couple boxes of shells and everything else is already there.
Wednesday, August 15, 2012 10:43 AM
looks likje it all things cleaning for your guns and looks to be easly put in car or duffle bag to bring on a hunt or to camp
Wednesday, April 03, 2013 6:36 AM
Impressive looking cleaning kit. Purchase price is on the high side though.
Wednesday, April 10, 2013 12:55 PM
Like most, we collect cleaning geat over time and just get duplicate items and bigger boxes. we all know the rule. keep it clean and it will never fail you and last forever. this is a great product and a real necessity for any sportsman. great to take along, compact and what you always need. Be prepared as they always say. (I have seen that many time myself)
Thursday, April 11, 2013 7:59 AM
Well the bag is small but than again beggars cant be choosers. I don't think it would make a good cleaning kit, it lacks the room for all the gun cleaning stuff. now for varmint hunting, the bag would be great for electronic calls for coyotes and maybe a flash light or 2. over all seems like a good product just not for the range.
Tuesday, April 16, 2013 9:02 AM
By having this kit would help me with completing my hunting gear. I am just starting to gather gear since my father don't think I should hunt since I'm a girl. I will be hunting this fall! Can't wait.

Tuesday, April 23, 2013 9:55 AM
many guns to glen and not the right cleaning kits to do all
Tuesday, April 23, 2013 4:02 PM
When I see this I see a Red Ryder lever action air rifle with a compass in the stock. OH my goodness
Friday, April 26, 2013 4:58 PM
Many guns to clean this would help out alot.
Sunday, April 28, 2013 4:24 PM
this to me is more than cleaning kit/range bag. it is every hunter/gun enthusiest dream to have such a bag with the capabiltiy of so many things. i mean allowing you to store your cleaning kit with out having to take up any of the space inside the bag itself.wwell that just leaves you more room in the bag itself to store other items only makes this bag above and beyond an outdoorsmans dreams.
Monday, April 29, 2013 3:53 AM
this kit looks very well put together and would be very useful to anyone who cleans guns I am in the Army and have served a tour in Iraq so I know how important it's is to have and keep clean gun this kit would be useful to any gun owner
