United Nations: Leave Our Guns Alone

By: Mark Kayser

Jul 13

It’s back! Like a wart, a spam Walmart e-mail and the dandelions in your lawn, the United Nations has returned with its firearms treaty and a welcome handshake from the current presidential administration.

What’s the beef? Well, the Arms Trade Treaty could give the world access to your firearm ownership information if signed and approved by the Senate. It could limit our country’s ability to manufacture and market firearms, and it could eventually jeopardize your Second Amendment rights. What’s not to like … right? Even if the Senate doesn’t ratify the treaty, it could still go into effect and damage our firearm industry.

Hello, McFly? America’s Constitution and its amendments, particularly the second one, are what make America outstanding in the world of governments. These documents create our unique freedom and why almost everyone on the globe wants to move to America. So why in the world would we want the U.N. and foreign governments to meddle in our protective affairs and possibly damage the firearm industry?

OK, the answer is as obvious as a huge pimple expanding on the end of your nose, but are the anti-gun folks pushing a bit too far this time? Sure, peace is the answer, but it’s not likely. I’m sorry to be the messenger, but despite our civilized stature as humans, we’re still animals. Look around. Animals struggle for food, water, shelter and territory every day. We’re no different in that mission than the ants in your lawn or the coyotes in your pasture. Until there are unlimited resources in the world, someone will always be trying to steal what you have and a strong defense is needed until that time. That means being armed without outside limitations.

Here’s something else that keeps our country strong and free; no other government can boast about this fact: Due to civilian firearm ownership and hunters, we have the largest army in the world. There are 13 million deer hunters and I know few who wouldn’t stand ready with arms if the country’s sovereignty or borders were threatened. What’s not to like about that?

So what can you do? You need to contact your senator immediately, especially democratic senators that may vote along party lines. Let them know you’re a gun owner. Let them know that you don’t want the U.N. meddling in our affairs. Let them know you support the firearm industry. Let them know their job is in jeopardy. Let them know you’re watching.

The new, post-American construction of the Constitution sets international agreements and treaties above our own rule of law. This means the radical lefties have squeezed the "living and breathing" constitutional argument dry. Now these collectivist social engineers have found a new route around the Bill of Rights. If they fool us this time, all of our individual liberties will be stripped from us, and we will be the herd of sheeple they have wanted us to be all along.

The Constitution was NOT formed to protect the government from people, it was formed to protect the people from Government.Entering into and forming foreign treaties that potentially infringe on my sovereignty is just plain against the law..you know, the law that our current "president" ignores and thumbs his nose at almost daily. While I am concerned for the firearms industry's well being I am even more concerned for OURS ! As the people's freedom goes so the industry. This issue has FAR more alarming consequences to freedom of ALL the people than just the injury to the firearms industry. Wake up people..we are in the midst ,maybe the tail-end, of losing our true freedoms at the hands of a government that believes ,and has swayed many to believe, that it is their job to "take care" of us and has given itself powers to interpret that and implement policies to execute those policies at the expense of our VERY foundation....Our LIVING and STILL VALID, Constitution.Hillary and Billary once referred to it as "an outdated document" If you believe that and allow the UN, of all the USELESS bodies, to dictate domestic policy then we are TRULY screwed. This intrusive and UN-AMERICAN treaty must be soundly defeated each and every time it gets re-proposed and it will get re-proposed if it fails this time. ACT NOW !! Don't give up. Keep pestering your representatives until they hear you and STOP the madness going on in "government" each and every day.Our concerns lie more in our very existence as free people than they do in how this crap will affect the firearms industry.

Mark,
your piece is exactly the type of information that I look to you guys to provide us,not"zombie" hunting garbage but even when I do see such info here it quite often smacks of politically correct undertones.PLEASE DON'T be afraid to call a spade a spade. An issue as important as this needs the ENTIRE ramifications spelled out not just the hit to the firearms industry. Let's talk about the active loss of freedoms going on daily in our "government". They ALL or nearly all will boil down to our loss of the right to defend ourselves from a tyranical government, which was THE VERY INTENT of the Second Amendment.Don't shy from the truth the whole truth and NOTHING but the truth. We promise not to withdraw our memberships. We promise to not look down on you because you speak about political issues.Give us the BIG picture because at the base level it all involves our hunting/fishing/gun owning rights. Thanks man for being our voice and letting us know..but please don't hold back. SPEAK UP for us and WITH us !!!

i totally agree!! we need to know EVERYTHING not just little tid bits. i encourage more info on this and many other issues at hand. WE THE PEOPLE are a very powerful force when united. let us stand against this tyranny and fight as brothers and sisters like the forefathers did and would EXPECT us to do to uphold the freedoms and rights that they put forth for us. Fight! Fight! Till the last man we will be strong, we will persevere!

I agree with all the comments and thoughts here but i am at a lose at what WE THE PEOPLE can do to stop the attacks on the citizens of this great country. I too have tried to contact my senators and representatives, but get no response at all. I severed my country in the US ARMY and my community as a deputy sheriff, and because I consider myself a patriot I am now classified as a potential terrorist by my own government and country that I have sworn to defend against all enemy's foreign and domestic. just being a gun owner these days raises red flags to those in Washington who seem to want to take control of every aspect of our lives, from gun control to how much soda we can drink. it is getting ridiculous. the UN is made up of dictators communists and others who control their country's with fear and oppression, and now they want to control us as well. I say no, not today not tomorrow not ever they can have my guns when they pry them from my cold dead hands. what shell we do?? how do we make our government listen to the people again and not to their own wants and ambitions when the people keep voting them into office? what will it take to get this country back on track as the supper power we once were.

The answer IS NOT through the UN. One only needs to look back on their actions during the late 70's and most of the 80's when they DAILY derided us and ridiculed us..ON our soil and with our finanbcial backing. They helped to make us a laughingstock around the world ..until my hero Ronald reagan took office.. Research for yourselves who supports the very existence of the UN..PRIMARILY OUR dollars has been that way for years. How have we Americans benefitted from the UN..NOT AT ALL

dont worry rogden4 there will come a time in the near future where you WILL know what to do to save this country and its citizens from tyranny. i fear in the near future we all will have the opportunity to make a decision which side to choose. its horrible to think about but the 2nd civil war is coming and our very own gov't is forcing it upon us. i dont know if any of you have hear about or have followed alex jones before but it might be worth checking into. hes a lil spastic sometimes but he offers a LOT of insight into how this tyrannical gov't is working. if you have a chance go on youtube look him up....one of his greatest videos made is called "Don't Tread On Me: Rise of the Republic" it shows how we and local and state gov't legally have more power than the feds. it was set up that way by the forfathers in the Constitution. watch it, it's seriously eye opening.

“Trade with all nations, alliance with none” – George Washington.
“When the government fears the people, there is liberty; when the people fear the government, there is tyranny. It’s the patriot’s job to protect his country from his government,” – Thomas Jefferson.
It’s simple; withdraw from the UN and kick them off that piece of New York Real Estate, remind our elected officials who they work for and fire the ones who get out of line.
Hey UN!! The last attempt to confiscate firearms from the American people led to a rather successful revolution.

I agree with everyone here also. I am a younger guy freshly out of my teeens but i absolutely love hunting. I love shooting guns and just being able to know i am able to protect my girlfriend with my weapons that i own in case of an emergency or so forth. The first time i ever shot a gun i was hooked the power was unbelieveable! Ever since that day i have been hunting with my uncle bc he was the first person to ever take me hunting when i was 8. Being able to be in touch with nature, hunt, shoot, and have the feeling of protection with my weapons. This topic really affects me and my uncle and my girlfriend all together we own 51 guns. They are addicting so to speak but the kind of addiction thats good for the heart soul and mind. I kno if i am ever stressed out from college or work i can go out and take my 12 guage and shoot clay pigeons and it takes all the stress away. Also i come from a family with several people in the miliatry i.e. My grandfather fought in 3 major wars and is still alive today to speak of it he is 70 something now and he will side with anyone on this blog that guns helped make america what it is today and with out them america would change drastically forever.

I have felt for years that if the tape is played out to the end the most likely conclusion, as the script is now being written, is absolute total Balkanized division AMONG us and violent revolution/civil war. I am NOT a "survivalist" , "militia "group member, or a violent radical looney..just a common guy who loves our country and can see the writing on the wall..trust me, it's NO LONGER in the history books that are being utilized to indoctrinate our youth in OUR schools these days. We better unite NOW at a time that this madness can be reversed WITHOUT force and bloodshed...time is short though, I fear
