Walk In Public Land is a great idea and a benefit to game management and keeping hunters, and getting new hunters, in the field.

Public land is vital to preserving hunting. Programs like with one in Wisconsin are great because it helps with the issue of over-crowding. I don’t own land so all I hunt is public land and there have been times when you can’t look in any direction without seeing an orange vest or five. The more land that is open, the more opportunity to hunt and the better it is for everyone.
Washington State has a similar program but it is not near the acreage. Hopefully we will catch up in the years ahead.
