A wolf season is a great idea. I like the quota method as well. It is a great way to manage numbers and allow hunters a new opportunity.
Maybe one day Washington State will follow in Wisconsin’s footsteps. Here’s hopping.

I believe its a good idea to have a wolf season because it will help manage them. In Wyoming the wolfs are moving from Yellowstone down the state and occupying new territory. They have already severally damaged the wildlife population by going after the young and only the older strong ones remain. On a observation, there were 50 cow elk and only 3 offspring accounted for. People say the population of elk population is OK, but they don't count how many young there are, the young are the ones that bring up generations to come. The wolves started on the north part of the state now they are reported on the south side of the state and into Colorado. They are in low population around the south part of the state, but if they are not managed we will see the wild population decrease and see possible predator population increase till there is not enough food supply for them and they turn on livestock, pets, and people. Eventually it will cost people more than they can handle and after that happens the predators will starve to death or move to a new territory and decimate the wildlife population there.

Good luck on that wolf hunt. I'm sure you'll get it. I can't for Wisconsins to open. When I get a wolf I'm gonna have a life size mount made with one of these Wisconsin sandhill cranes in it's mouth.

I think it's a great idea. Here in Wyoming we are hoping that plans for a wolf season here will pan out for this fall. I say hopefully because I'm sure it going to face legal challenges from groups of so-called "animal rightists" who don't have a clue what they are talking about and don't have any stake in the matter other than some political "pipe dreams". We didn't ask for wolves but they are here to stay let us manage them like we do other wildlife. Rock on Minnesota!!

I think it is a good idea especially since the wolf population is back up, & the quota is a great way to control it. This will help keep the population healthy and keep the deer pop up also.
