If you're talking about the morel mushrooms, they grow in my yard down near the lake by the buckets. They don't do much for me so I just mow um off.

Since a pound goes for 50-75 bucks, you might want to reconsider mowing them.

I have heard they bring a pretty penny, but I wouldn't know who to sell to or even go about it. I'd bet there's a lot of red tape involved in something like that too.

In Iowa they go for about 25-35 a pound, guys sell them on craigslist and make good money. I would probably cry if i saw someone mow down morels

Thanks DEPierce and whitetailer1. I will keep that in mind for next year. I noticed some yesterday, but didn't look around much. This screwy so called winter we had has all this growing stuff messed up. Other years it was always right around Mother's Day when they were at full growth. Just so you know you're not alone, my brother says I'm crazy for cutting them too.
