Airline Hikes Fee For Traveling With Antlers

Oftentimes, the most difficult (and expensive) part of killing a trophy animal comes with the travel aspect. There is no single location a hunter can kill every species of game animal, so jumping in a truck or hopping on a plane is inevitable unless you're only interested in the creatures that lurk in your backyard.

With high ticket prices and all the other excessive airline fees, travelers are getting nickel-and-dimed to death. And now, if you're a hunter planning to fly US Airways and travel with antlers, you might want to think twice.

US Airways has reportedly doubled their fee for traveling with antlers from $100 to $200, and they're very specific about how they want your hard-won bone pile to be packed.

Do you think US Airways is justified in their antler travel fee increase?

That's still a lot better then Air Canada. They won't fly antlers at all. At least they didn't a few years ago when I last flew with them. I was told that antlers were dirty and stink. I said "The same goes for some passengers, and ya let them on the plane." I had to ship them cargo for $300 to Chicago then drive 4 hours to go pick um up. I believe the last time I flew to Canada was with NW. No problem there.
