Watching a bullet’s vapor trail on video is always cool, but it’s “you gotta see this” awesome when that bullet smokes a great animal.
Check out this clip showing 14-year-old Jakob's first Coues’ deer. According to info provided on YouTube, Jakob and his dad were spot-and-stalk hunting on public land in southern Arizona on a DIY adventure in late November 2011. The shot distance was 315 yards, and he was using a .270 Win.
Jakob’s sitting, and his rifle is resting on a bipod—both good decisions when faced with a lengthy shot. And what I really like about this video is Jakob’s patience; he takes his time and aims carefully.
Nice job, guys!
Until next time ...
