Monster Buck Miss; Innocent Bystander Hit

By: Dave Maas

Feb 29

I apologize if you’ve already seen the clip (it has nearly 2.5 million views on YouTube), but after watching it again recently, I simply had to include it in “Killing Time.”

The rifle hunter waits for a perfect shot ... feel free to fast-forward to 1:45 or so ... but then watch carefully. Hint: The real action happens just over the buck’s back.

(Spoiler alert: What are the chances the bullet would strike critter No. 2 so perfectly?)

According to the hunter who posted this YouTube clip, his son dropped the 7mm Rem. Mag. 1 week prior to the whitetail hunt but didn’t tell anyone. Lesson learned: Always sight-in your rifle after arriving at your hunting destination.

Until next time ...

Ouch!! That rabbit has a headache! It's good that you shared this as a reminder to ALWAYS sight-in your rifle upon arrival. My father, uncles, and grandfathers all insisted that we arrive a couple days early for every hunt to make sure this doesn't ever happen to us!

That poor guy must have been just sick. The fact that the buck waited and gave him a second chance is amazing. I hope he got the chance to redeem himself later.

I hope they at least ate what they could off of the rabbit.

Wow...Once maybe but twice...did he not get the hint he might have wanted to aim a tad bit lower on the second shot, witch by the way he was lucky to get...really amazed he did not compensate for the miss! But on a lighter note atleast he had some rabbit chunks to take home and I stress CHUNKS...lol
