SHOT Update: Hunting Gloves For Texting

By: Josh Dahlke

Jan 19

Text messaging and hunting ... Luke Hartle brought it up in a blog post last November, and it's quite the hot topic. Since then, we've seen some hunting gear innovations—such as the Textpac—for hunters who can't stop scratching the texting itch in the field.

If you're a texting/hunting machine, you know touch screens have no tolerance for gloves, and it's a pain to have to continually take your gloves on and off. Well, thanks to Rocky Outdoor Gear, that's no longer a problem.

New for 2012, Rocky is introducing text-friendly hunting gloves. The fingers are made of a conductive material that works like a charm. I tried the gloves on at SHOT Show, tested them with my smartphone, and they're the real deal.

Agree Scott, weather, buddy location, and signal for help. My beast friend and hunting buddy has some health issues, if it weren't for texting, he might not be able to hunt in a blind by himself...

When I hunt the phone stays in the truck. Being pestered by an annoying electronic device on my blind is NOT on my list of preferences. Texting while hunting...LOL LOL !!!! PLEASE !!!
