SHOT Show: What Do You Want To See?

By: Luke Hartle

Jan 13

I love SHOT Show. At least that’s my story now, 3 days before it begins, sitting on my rear-end while bellied-up to a computer. Ask me 2 days into the show, and I’ll likely be complaining heavily.

SHOT Show is when everyone polishes their silver to present their new products for 2012. Yes, there is much business that’s done, but there’s a lot of way-cool stuff to see, too.

Don't take my (written) word for it, I'll tell you in person:

It’s going to be a ton of work (I already carry a travel-size bottle of Gold Bond powder in briefcase if that tells you anything), but I’m willing to stick my neck out and specifically seek and conquer any new products you might have heard about. Remember, it’s my job to bring you the biggest and best from the biggest and best, but I can admit there might be a sweet gadget or two out there you’ve heard about that I haven’t.

So … let me know! I’ve heard that if a SHOT attendee were to walk every aisle of the show and stop at every vendor, he/she could only spend 7 seconds at each booth in order to make it to each one in the show’s 4-day duration. Needless to say, I need your help to prioritize. And for anything I can't hit, my cohorts, Josh Dahlke and Ben Gustafson, should be able to provide backup.

Keep your nose to the wind.

What do you want to see from SHOT Show 2012? Guns, gear, parties, booth babes?
Let me know in the comment box below!

First off I would ask the Ruger reps why they thought they needed to
re-invent the wheel with the new Ruger American rifle. What would be
wrong with dropping the MSRP a bit on the fine Hawkeye's? The "new"
American is ugly, and I see no good reason behind it. My guess, it will
only last a couple of years, then go the way the Remington model 788.
Next, Booth Babes for sure! Have fun.

I want to see any and every thing not made in China. I am really getting sick and tired of every thing you go to buy having made in China on it. I refuse to buy any hunting gear, guns, bows, etc. if its not MADE IN THE USA. Come on really , we can conpete with China if we just try.

Please take a moment to view my prototype slide show, as it demonstrates the multiple uses and features of my collapsible, lightweight & back-packable seating device.

To view the slide show below in less than 3 1/2 min., change the speed to fast (drop down speed list is located to the right of the pause/play control) or manually advance through the images and view the captions.

I have been hunting for over 30 years and see a need fulfilled by this device, as well as its asset potential for the manufacturing or wholesale company that makes a commitment to it. Initially, I developed the seat for the aging and disabled populations. In testing my prototype, I discovered that it can be secured to trees or structures ranging in size and pitch, and quickly stabilizes on variable terrains. It can also be configured to accommodate ground seating or be used as a quick blind. It can be produced in a variety of sizes and from many types or combinations of materials. The device can be used for multiple applications, including hunting, camping, hiking, and other outdoor events/activities. It may even have US Military uses.

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
Richard Birch

I'd like to see more about bushnells back track gps units. Any thing new there? How about more on some of the better laser range finders.
Try not to get lost amungst the many booths.

All: Well, I've survived SHOT Show and I'm back. I have some new calluses that will be with me for quite some time, but it was completely worth it ... I found some kick-a** new products you NEED to know about.

But I must ask you to bear with me ... there's a lot of information I want to share with you and it's going to take some time. The last thing I want to do is dump it all on ya and wish you luck.

So, sit tight and expect new stuff to come your way every few days ... right here.
