The smell of Spring is already in the air when it comes to us Hunters. I plan on heading south from Indian into Fort Knox KY for the Start of Turkey season April 18th. I plan on going back down south to Hoosier National Forest around April 23rd and then I will be heading to Lodi City Wisconsin chasing that beard May 9th.

Between those times I will be hunting Coyote, Raccoon, and Red Fox year round with my Savage .223 Axis.

There is no other feeling than getting withing less than 10 yrds on a bird pulling back, sliding your finger in front of that release trigger calming your nerves, then hear the sound of that string in slow motion as it drives that arrow across that wisker biscuit and the sharp thud as that Gobbler Guillotine shreds that neck up......

This should be an even more exciting year then those in the past. Will be starting with taking Caslin my 11 year old daughter to Kansas for Spring Turkeys. If plans go well she will bag one with her Crossbow as well as her 20g.

I will then head to the Black Hills for Tureky's myself. This will be followed by heading back to Wisconsin to take Caslin for Turkeys in Wi and maybe even bag another one myself.

Come Fall we will be taking Caslin to Colorado for Elk and Mule Deer. We are in the process of gathering information on Building her an AR-15 in 6.5 Grendel to do the job. She currently shoots one in 7.62x39 and let me tell you she is t Tack Driver with it.

After returning home we will again hit the woods for White Tail. Last year Caslin bagged her first Buck a nice little spike and a Doe.

Caslin is a little Tack Driver with every weapon she picks up. She also has the respect for animals that allows her to let one walk when it did not present the perfect shot. She gets so excited knowing that she was able to get so close to the animal and that she will get a chance to get that close and maybe closer next time!

P.S. If anyone has any suggestions on building a light kicking 6.5 Grendel I am open to them. Caslin only weighs in at 52lbs on a good day and she has had several open heart surgeries so the lighter the recoil the better. (We currently use a JPEnterprises recoil Eliminator and that makes a huge difference but all options are open for the new build!)

This will be the year that i get to take all four of my kids for there first turkey, coyote and deer hunts! We just moved back from Italy being military and bought all of them a bow and being get them them dialed in. so between the targets and the coyote practice we take some down time to do some fishing at the lake. so my year is pretty book trying to teach all of them the the do's and dont's.

Don't hunt much out of state but for Ohio Turkey, woodchucks and coyotes

This year I plan to go grouse hunting and take my 5 year old step-daughter with so that I can introduce her to joys of hunting. I don't care if we take anything, just showing her the woods is going to be alot of fun. I'm also planning on introducing my g/f to hunting. It'll probably be for blacktail. For my third hunt, I'll probably go with my father again for deer and possibly elk, last year was the first year that I harvested a deer with him and I've only hunted with him twice. I didn't know him growing up so this has been an exciting time.

Just finishing the water fowl and upland season here in southern California so it's time for coyotes and bobcats they deserve attention too rite. Ill try to get in a pig in as well before spring turkey opens on march 31st. then in late June it time to head home to Idaho for some fishing and camping through July. Then it's back to CA for August black tail archery and or September rifle. I'm putting in for a Tulle Elk hunt at Fort Hunter Lidget CA. hope I get a tag. This year I will be headed to Quebec for Caribou hunt in September. Upon completing that hunt I will then be off to Newfoundland in October for a moose hunt. To cap off my big game season, I will then make my annual trek to Colorado for Mule deer and Elk the first week in November. This should be a year to remember. Still trying to figure out how to squeeze in upland game and the waterfowl seasons. I'll keep ya posted and provide updates of the hunts. {:-)

I'm an average Joe so big money hunts are out of the question for me but I do take advantage of what Northeastern NC has to offer. I have 15 deer stands within 10 miles of my home and work hours allow me to deer hunt every day during the season here. Also farming part time gives me opportunity to leave a few row crops for wildlife. Thus Turkey hunting in the spring at least twice a week and goose, duck hunting and trapping to control nutria in a duck impoundment. Unless I'm sick or honey dues get in the way I'm on the water or in the woods every day. When there's no open season around here it's Coyote hunting.

My hunting plans are somewhat limited by regulations and finances. Finances will keep me in-state but I like to try and make the most of it.
September is always too far away. I plan to hunt the opening week of Archery Elk season. It should be prime rut for these guys. I will also be changing up my usual hunting routine by hunting Mule deer with a bow. The seasons run at the same time so I will be hunting both. Unfortunately with state regulations you can only hunt big game with one method per year. (If you choose bow, you can only hunt that season and your done.) The nice thing is that both deer and elk have a late season in November so I might catch a little post-rut deer activity if I am unsuccessful in the early season.
Grouse season opens in August and goes through December and coyote is open year round. I have not made up my mind if I will add bear and cougar to the mix but it is possible.
Since I can hunt deer anywhere in the state, I will be filling the odd weekend with a hunt or two during each season.
I’ll be tagging along with my wife when she hunts the rifle seasons.

this year, i will be hunting everday i get the chance. i stoked about the new bow i got and im ready to sight it in all summer. i live on my hunting grounds which is about 200 acres in total, some wetlands for duck and goose hunts, and we have a few fields and some hardwoods, now i know what your thinking, only 200 acres and not even half of it is hard woods, but last year my dad nailed a nice 137 gross, 135 3/8 net ten pointer (this is in New jersey by the way, so that is pretty big) . i will be hunting deer and duck from September to Januarry. and i'll be hittin' the rut hard for white-tail. i've noticed over the years that the rut is getting earlier and earlier. i saw i nice 125 eight-point from my house through binoculars, but the next day a nieghbor shot him. the story of every hunters life. but this year i have a good feeling and my new technique is to try too hunt Thursdays. think about it. Frydays and saturdays you have people home from work and shooting 40 pound does and scaring big bucks sunday is legal to bow hunt in Nj but nothing moves because they are still spooked from their buddies getting shot the day before. Monday and Tuesday little does start to move, on Wensdays little bucks and does are getting a little more comforatble, and by Thursday, the bucks feel safe to move. of couse during the rut, bucks don't care and would probly go to the same spot to rut after some idiot shot a doe while he was breeding her- yes i've seen that-so this year just feels good, i've let 3 little six pointers go and a lot of spikes. so maybye they'll grow!

I will be taking my two older children out turkey hunting this april to see if we can find us a nice tom. Then maybe a little spring black bear hunting to see if I can get my first bear. Then off to scouting for elk for archery during september. Then I will be taking my dad and my niece out to see if you we can get my niece her first deer.

This weekend i will be going coyote hunting in Western Pennsylvania. When Muzzleloader ends Saturday i will soon be putting out my food plot Sunday. In April i plan on going Turkey hunting right up the road from my house. From September 6-19 i will be going to Wyoming to Pronghorn Antelope hunt. Then in October i will be Phesant, Turkey, Rabbit, Racoon, and Coyote hunting. And to finish off 2012 i will be deer hunting at my friends club where last year i shot a deer and hopefully this year i will do the same!

Oh did I forget to mention along with musky fishing, I will be trying to top my 140 class whitetail and again be pursuing Illinois monsters.

Well the only plans i have right now is do a little shed hunting with my son and i will try next fall to top my 150 class buck here in Ohio.

I,m heading to Colorado for my first archery elk hunt in September and hoping to draw a mule deer tag to boot. Then it's back home to Kansas for archery whitetail. Then I hope to head down to Oklahoma to hint with my family for more whitetails and ferel hogs. All this with my trusty mathews!

Deer season ends late here in Texas, as we are on Managed Lands, so chasing whitetail till around the end of Feb, probably about 15 days of hunting on and off. Mar starts the turkey season and since I am in the field guiding turkey hunters several weekends, the spots in between, 5 total, will find me chasing the longbeards with archery gear. Then exotic hunters will be upon us for the next three months and I will seek out several Aoudads, Axis deer and any of the five species of sheep during the summer months. I need to find a Texas Dall, Black Hawaiin, Coursican and Mouflan this year for my wall so will spend at least 30 days in the next four months chasing these creatures for relocation. Sept hits and I am off to AK to hunt Black Bear and Moose with a friend of mine from Wasilla. That will be a 14-19 day excursion. Then back here and up to Maine where I will guide and hunt black bear, moose and whitetails with my buddy Eldon Jandreau or Portage Lake. This will usually take about 3 weeks and little sleep. I manage to get out about four or five days each season after the hunters have vacated. Oct brings me back to Texas and starts the Archery season for deer and turkey. This season ends around the first of Nov and immediately starts the general season for big game in Texas. And, with all the clients during the general season I am limited to about 21 total days to spend chasing any deer to fill any of the five tags I didn't use in Oct. Along with these hunts we get out and shoot doves and ducks when time permits. By the time Feb hits I am ready for a rest and do so by early season fishing here at Lake Amistad near Del Rio, TX. Hope everyone has a year like me.

For the 2012 season I will be looking forward to spending my time with my father. Growing up I spent as much time with my dad as I could in the woods. We mostly hunted whitetail deer and small game in southwest Michigan on my grandfather's farm. Since then, I have been itching to take on some new adventures. This year, I have been looking forward to taking on the spring or fall turkey season and getting back in to bow hunting. A few years ago I sold my bow when we moved off of the family farm. I didn't make the time to hunt nearly as much, but now I am looking at teaching my kids the importance of gun and hunter safety. 2012 is the year of new beginnings. Michigan hunting season, here I come!!

Wish I could do some of the things posted. But with a family and they way the economy is, I doubt I ever will. But I do get to rabbit hunt through March and I also have just started to coyote hunt. Once early spring Turkey is here, you will find me out in the woods. Then its a bit of fishing and working on the blinds through summer. Once September arrives, its back to squirrel, and finishing scouting for deer. I also go on two salmon fishing trips before bow season begins. Second weekend of October is one of the most fun. Its duck hunting time. I have property on a river so we have a blast. Nothing better than opening day of duck. From there, hunting is all dependent on weather. If its nice, its deer time, if its windy and raining, back to duck and goose. I hunt whitetail all the way until Jan 1 and then back to rabbits and coyotes. Then the routine just repeats itself, year after year. This year we managed to camp out almost every weekend from Sept 1 through Nov. I think we missed one weekend. So if you can't afford any big hunts, but love sitting around a campfire, hunting and fishing with very good friends, having no worries, and basically enjoying the outdoor life to the fullest, then this is the trip for you. It lasts forever.

Well, starting in the fall i am embarking on my mission to take a whitetail in every state that allows their hunting...with my TC Omega. I will be hunting the early October Hunt in PA and then the week leading up to Thanksgiving i'll be in NY for the start of their gun season. Then if no luck in PA in the early hunt i'll be back the week after Thanksgiving to give it another try. Oh, and i'm doing it all on Public land. I'm just starting out on my own and on my mission so i'm hoping to knock of two states this year. Of course to do this on public land i'll be spending every second i can in the woods scouting/small game hunting...if only i didn't have to work!

Despite a full work schedule, my year is shaping up nicely. It starts in western North Carolina in early April for turkeys followed by a youth turkey hunt in Indiana with my sons. On April 25th the opener for Indiana turkeys will find me in southern Indiana. May 19 - 27 Ill be hunting bears in New Brunswick with Stoneybrook Outfitters.

September will find me in Wyoming hunting antelope and mule deer. On September 29 &30 Ill be hunting whitetails with my sons in Indiana. October 1 starts a very busy scedule of whitetails in Indiana, Ohio and North Carolina. November Ill be heading back to Wy if I didnt fill my Mulie tag in September.

My hunt in the Black Hills is my birthday present to my son (37 this year) in May.
Of course I will hunt in Mn no matter what season i have to take,, My Uncle in Austin (MN) gave me permission to hunt the acreage he has, prime turkey ground!!
This year I plan on a full week in Minnesota Deer Camp with my cousins, i havent been able to take the time in years.

Its gonna be a great hunting season! Am headed to TX Hill Country for a Rio in March, to Arkansas for a chance at an Eastern in April and maybe a shot at an Oklahoma Rio in late April or Early May, coyotes and hogs till it gets too hot between turkey hunts, early season deer scouting and shed hunting early spring sprinkled between hunts, planting spring food plots, refreshing mineral licks, planting mast and pear trees early on. Reloading and fine tuning the rifles and crossbow for deer season during the summer along with some clay pigeon hunting to get ready for dove and ducks. Then hopefully a hunting reunion with my number one hunting partner, my son Austin, in September for a Texas dove hunt. He has been serving in the Marines for the past four years and plans on ending his service in September. Have our first elk hunt in the planning in October, maybe he and I will score our first elk together as I have been waiting for his return. Then we will hunt deer in East Texas and the Texas Hill Country and ducks, geese, and sandhill cranes in south Texas. Hogs again before the year ends...it's gonna be a great year!!!

Hunting for almost 60 years, and retirement lets me hunt almost every day (PA doesn't have Sunay hunting except crowsand predators). Ground hogs will be comingout about time goose season ends, then spring gobbler, back to doves and geese, then archery,small game and big game. Live to hunt; hunt to live!

I also had an average job, but I found out if you can stash $10 a week (3 beers/2 packs of smokes) it takes about10 years to have enough for a guided hunt for some nice animals. Start doing this when you are 20 and there is the 30, 40, 50, & 60 year old hunts. It is worth it for 4 great hunting experiences.

Best of all take a kid - son, daughter, grandchild, neigbor, and you will get more than killing an animal yourself. Best wishes in all your endeavors.

I will soon be finishing up the last of deer season with my bow. It has been a great season so far but I still have one tag left to fill before Feb. 28. On the days that I am not hunting for that last buck I will be thinning out some hogs that are trying to take over the lease. As soon as April comes around the turkey better look out. I have been draw for a permit for a WMA that have some big gobblers and my son has been draw for the youth hunt. Hopefully I will get to see him take his first gobbler. As turkey season comes to an end I will begin fishing and preparing for my yearly trip from Arkansas to Colorado to do my most passionate hunting. ELK! I take a week off from work and set up camp and hunt with some of my best friends and family. It's a long trip but worth every minute of it. October rolls around and I am ready to hunt for those bucks again. I have prepared the food crops and fed the rice bran and corn through out the year. It is now time for it to pay off. The joy of sharing my passion for hunting with my son makes well worth doing it all over again every year.

If all of my draws come through I will start off in mid April with a combined Black Bear and Turkey hunt in Eastern Oregon near the Snake River Canyon. In late August I'll be in sotheast Oregon for Bighorn Sheep, .0004% chance on the draw but I keep hoping. Early September will find my partner and I in Wyoming for an a Pronghorn hunt. Went last year and it was the best, filled four tags in a day and a half. October is back to southeast Oregon for Mule Deer and ending the year in November in northeast Oregon for Elk, 99% chance of drawing that tag. And some how in between all this upland bird and waterfowl to boot.

I hope to be able to go hunting for deer for the 2012 season. And maybe hunting for some rabbit, squirrel, pheasant, and maybe turkey. But for the last couple years I haven't been able to go hunting because of my Service Connected Disability, that I received during the 11 years in the military. Because of this I can't even find a job, since 1997. So I am not sure about being able to go hunting or not, but I sure hope so...

Though my father tried, I never got into hunting as a kid. I went with him, but never actually shot anything. Now, as an adult, I am suddenly interested. I shot my first deer over a year ago, nut that has been my only kill so far. I plan to change that this year. I plan to hunt squirrel in various locations around southwest Missouri, I will be hunting turkey on several private properties in the Oars, I will be purchasing my first bow and practicing until my arms cry uncle so I can put in as much deer hunting time as possible in the fall. I would like to try my hand at frogs with my .22 in the summer and anything else I think I can get my husband to eat. Its all new, and I'm pretty much teaching myself, with several phone calls to dad, who lives 3 hours away. I want to spend as much time in the woods as possible. I may not be headed to any amazing or exotic locations, but I am building my love and appreciation for the outdoors and discovering a love for hunting that should have grown long ago.

most of my hunting plans are whitetail deer ,muzzleloader,crossbow,& gun seasons. then to mix it up small game . maybe start turkey hunting this year.

My plans are less glamorous than many.

I'll apply for a point towards a future elk hunt. Then I'll apply for deer, coues deer as a second choice with a Kaibab Mule Deer Hunt being my first choice. My odds are slim to non-existant for the Kaibab so I want to score some preference points.

Lastly, I'm applying for antelope in Wyoming. I'm in hopes of a buck and two doe tags at a minimum. On the way to Wyoming I'll stop in Colorado and do some fly fishing.

That's it for my hunting plans for 2012. I'm already looking at some hunts for 2013 as well. I have to schedule things far in advance, given the nature of my employment. Of course I'll do some predator hunting through the year and would really like to call in a mountain lion.

I'm not much of a duck hunter and don't care for javalina but if I get the chance to get over to Texas I wouldn't turn down a hog or two. I'll concentrate on deer and antelope this year while working an elk hunt in the future as well as a few other critters, like moose in Newfoundland.

My plans for the season are to ready my 5 year old son for his first year out with dad. I wis this age when my MOM took me out. My mom is the inspiration for teaching my kids to enjoy and respect nature for all it is worth.

10/10-12/31 WI whitetail archery. Weekends and before and after work every day possible. WI now allows bows in rifle season, so I am not sure the rifle will leave the range in 2012.

12/31 - Possible divorce?

My son and me start to plan are hunting trip on the first of the year every year for Elk and deer in November. We go up into the Colorado Rocky's to hunt. I'm Total Disable, my hole back is fuse and I'm on oxygen, but that will not stop me from going hunting at anytime. Every year we get are buck and doe. But for Elk not yet. We live in Colorado but people will not help you. Last year was the worst year. I have a 34' trailer the water was freezing everyday plus it snow about a foot each day. We would hunt until noon then come home to fix the water. First day I needed a 90, so into town and back. Put it in(no water). The next same thing, get back to the trailer to remove snow and crawl under the trailer water tank is hot it needs another 90. Same thing back to town came back with 10 90's. Still no water. Will no water in tank, I guess I broke the 90 into the tank. I'm done no meat this year and still have to fix the trailer nice trip. But I wish people in Colorado were more help full. Nice hunting everyone.

Would love to have one of calendars to plan my hunting instead of the ones i have could put it my rifle & hand gun cabinet which is the forst thing i see each morning. Instead of jamming all my other calendars in the little space for other upcoming appointments & shopping items.

As spring approaches I am hunting coyotes every weekend, I put out my trail cams last weekend and already got a few nice shots on a couple decent whitetail herds, but it is still to early for antlers. Got a real nice shot of a black bear so I am making plans to hunt him or her in September. In May I will head for the family farm here in central Vermont for a beard, Got another cam watching one of the corn fields now, which revealed a great selection of long beards to choose from. Last fall when I shot my 6 pointer a real nice 11 pointer came through while field dressing so hoping he is still around for the October bow season. Another cam is set up on a ridge full of Acorn trees for a 16 pointer that was never tagged in the last three years, pretty sure I have been getting shots of him however like I said it is still to early for antlers he is my target for the November rifle season. I did find his sheds though and hung them on my wall. I have another 8 pointer and large doe marked out with another cam for the December muzzle loader season. Woodchucks and coyotes all spring and summer. I am also planning partridge and rabbit hunts for the fall and winter it will be an exciting year in the woods this year and many years to follow.

My wife and I have a rare chance this year to go to Colorado for Elk, Mule deer and Antelope. We are nothing but whitetail hunters in Wisconsin, so when a co-worker came up to us and said I put in for land permits on my ranch would you like to join, we jumped on it. Six of us will be taking an RV out and when we get there, we will have to take horses into the ranch. Unless something changes in life this is the only time we will probably do this. Another perk is I have never been to Colorado. So after the first week in September I will let you know how the hunt went and hopefully have some pictures.

I doubt my hunting plans will make any headlines. It will consist of Turkey season, then into Deer. For now it is scouting and shed hunting. I DREAM of making a living in the hunting industry. I am looking for the back door to get in. I don't have the Wild Life training like most. I don't have the connections that most had. I am currently laid off from the world of creating Mattresses and Box Springs where I am a production supervisor. I am not sure if we will even re-open. The layoff allowed me to hunt the entire season, and learn alot about myself. I have found that If I can find that "BACKDOOR" into the world of HUNTING for a living. I WILL jump at the chance! So, as far as the calender goes. Give it to someone who will have a stellar year. For me, all I need is a DOOR!

well in april i will be hunting wisconsin for turkey. then on to getting the cameras up and food plots for deer in the fall have a nice little 10 acres area that the deer use for a pass through its great had alot of nice deer on camera last year and even took a nice mature doe and nice 8 point. will put in a lot of hrs this year in the stand, so we will see what comes out of it. have a couple diffrent 5 day trips to pennsylvania and ohio for archery. good luck to eveyone this coming year
