Whew! Christmas is here, and boy am I glad. It’s been a long fall. I’ve basically been hunting since mid-August. But I’m not complaining; I’m just looking forward to my own bed, hanging out with my loving wife and spending some quality time with the kids. Oh yeah, my dog, Sage, misses me and we’re going to chase a coyote or two if time allows. Quite simply, it's good to be home.
I'll get together with my brothers and my folks to swap stories and spread the cheer. We’ll also be shoveling down some good eats. It should be a Rocky Mountain Christmas to remember.
Here’s another round of good news: The deer hunting season isn’t over for me. I still have another hunt left to complete in Iowa after the New Year, and then it’s off to the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show to see what’s new in the hunting industry and the Las Vegas strip. (OK, I really don't care about what's new in Vegas ... it can stay in Vegas.)
I’m sure Christmas will fly by faster than a fleeing whitetail, but I’m going to savor every second. I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. From my family to yours, enjoy the season!
