The deadline for entering the "North American Hunter-TV"/Nikon E-S-T contest is coming up fast. All entries must be posted on the E-S-T website by midnight on Dec. 31, 2011. We want to hear your E-S-T stories.

After the close of the contest, "NAH-TV" and Nikon will work together in selecting the winning stories and announce them at Nikon’s booth at the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in Las Vegas the third week in January 2012. The top prize is a Nikon hunting optics package valued at almost $2,000. Awesome second- and third-place prizes are also at stake.

What’s E-S-T or “Extraordinary Situation Testing”?
Well, if you don’t know already, then you’ve got some pleasurable viewing ahead of you. The "NAH-TV" crew put a series of videos together that tested the new Nikon Monarch 3 binoculars in some simulated and some not-so-simulated hunting conditions. We specifically tested them on the protocol of the wett-EST, dirti-EST, dark-EST, cold-EST and all-around tough-EST hunting conditions. There’s also an “intro” video that reveals the legend about how all this came about. It’s an enduring, endearing tale of technology against the elements, and an innocent country boy’s long and winding journey to manhood.
