Get ready for more of me. The second season of "Extreme Pursuits" is about to premiere on the Pursuit Channel beginning June 27, and extends through December. Of course, some of those are reruns, but I hunted hard to make sure the shows were packed with plenty of "Extreme" action, so I'm betting you'll see something new the second time around.
To ensure entertainment and education, each show includes an "Equipment Room" section and an "Extra Mile" segment. Equipment and tactics highlight each mini tip within the show to add more value to your viewing dollar. Satellite and cable TV isn't cheap these days unless you are siphoning if from the neighbor in some rigged way I don't want to know about.
As for species, look for everything in the blue collar big game category. I didn't draw moose or sheep tags last year, but you can join me on hunts for elk, mule deer, pronghorns and lots and lots of whitetails. Inhospitable weather, pant-tearing environments and long waits lying prone in the prairie all add up to daytime Emmy shows.
What was my favorite? Stay tuned for whitetails in the sunflowers. The calling and decoying action was nonstop as bucks swarmed me in the sunflowers like sharks in the ocean. I think you'll also enjoy my son Cole's first big game bowhunt. We landed in pronghorn heaven with Boone and Crockett and Pope and Young pronghorns around every sage bush.
