Win A Maine Bear Hunt: I'm Coming With

By: Josh Dahlke

Black bear hunting has been on my mind ... a lot.

Sign Up And Cross Your Fingers

Some of you may have already noticed via the "Inside Track" e-newsletter or some of the chatter on the North American Hunting Club Facebook page: One lucky person will be traveling to Maine August 29-September 2. That person will be hunting black bears with Spruce Mountain Guide Service. But there's one thing you might not have realized: I'm coming with.

This is a big year of firsts for me. It's my first year as an archer/bowhunter; I'm likely going on my first Montana antelope hunt in October (I haven't mentioned that in a blog yet); and I will be tackling my first black bear hunt, in Maine, also making it my first trip to the East Coast. Yeah, I'm stoked about all of the above "firsts," but I'm really pumped to share my first bear camp with a fellow NAHC member.

It's quite possible one of you could become the lucky winner of the Spruce Mountain Black Bear Hunt Giveaway. You can sign up through June 26, 2011, but you might as well get it done today! Sign up right now, right here; no, it doesn't cost a dime. I look forward to meeting the winner at my first bear camp!

Book Now

Not confident of your odds, yet still want to book an exceptional Maine black bear hunt? Scott York, owner and operator of Spruce Mountain Guide Service, is offering a special deal for a handful "Inside Track" e-newsletter subscribers who want to save serious cash and hunt at his top-notch camp. The first five people who book a fall black bear hunt will receive $300 off a baited hunt or $400 off a black bear hunt with hounds.

Contact Scott via e-mail at sprucemountainguide@yahoo.com or call him toll free at 1-866-902-3186. Just sign up for "Inside Track" (it's free) and tell the folks at Spruce Mountain you heard about their specials because you're on the "Inside Track."

To all you seasoned black bear hunters out there, feel free to share any words of wisdom in the comment box below.

So you think it's not fair to you because you do not have a Facebook account! Well I do not think it is fair that I cannot enter because I am in Iraq and the dates just don't fit my schedule. Well good luck to you and sign up for an account. If my 70 year old Aunt can figure it out I am sure you can.

Well said hanshew! I won't join facebook for the fact that they are supporters of Peta but I'm not complaining. If those people want to follow like sheep to the killl then that's their choice.

Amen Reli346; plus I don't think I'm interesting enough to broadcast my personal data to those people that have no business knowing. I guess some unfortunate editor will just have to suffer without me.

Man oh Man , Poor Scott (the owner of the land) and Josh also. I don't think I would want to go on a hunt with the Whiners that are posting to this blog. They would probably have some excuse to the fact as to why they missed or made a bad shot on the poor critter. It is just a chance to win it , just like anything else there are some strings attached to it, like your address and phone # so they can at least let you know you have won. I would just overlook them all and send me so I can have bragging rights :) LOL

PS to Hanshew, My oldest served and was in on the first wave to Bahgdad and now my youngest is over in the sands in Kuwait. My hat is off and my hand is extended in gratitude to all of you serving our country. I was in the army circa 1970-73 Airborne Parachute Rigger

It's a friggin contest. Lighten up !!! Josh wants to take someone. If you don't like the parameters of the rules, don't do it. I would personally love to go to Maine to go bear hunting. It's unfortunate that I am going on my own Wisconsin bear hunt at the same time. Go get 'em Josh !!!
