Hey Y’all,
I’m Ainsley Beeman, an avid outdoorswoman from Louisiana! Born and raised in the sportsman’s paradise, I’m happy to tell you that my love for hunting began at a very young age. While my smile never ceased as I took down one fox squirrel after another, it was a November to remember in 1994 that truly changed my life. As a first grader with a long blonde ponytail, packing her .243, I harvested my first Louisiana white-tailed buck. Little did we know that 7 points and a 5-inch spread would create a passion in me that would forever affect my life.
Growing older, I realized that everyone had their own interests, whether those be sports, dance, dating etc. While I participated in most of them, nothing could compare to the thrill I had when reeling in a bass on the bayou or sitting in a treestand with my dad. I feel like I had the best of both worlds growing up, because I am just as comfortable in a deer stand or a duck blind as I am in a shopping mall or boutique.
I have been very fortunate throughout my life to have experienced many clear, frosty mornings and overcast sunsets that only a hunter can truly appreciate. Although whitetails are at the top of my list, I’ve been known to take a few doves, ducks and turkeys during their seasons. As I grew older, the attraction only continued, and my youth .243 was set aside for my .270, but eventually gunpowder and lead alone were not enough. Whether my prowess is tested bowfishing or by a big ol’ buck, I’m now addicted to bowhunting with my compound bow.
As a recent college graduate from Louisiana State University (LSU), I am proud to look back on my time there, and know that I uniquely made my mark. You see, not only was I successful in planning every semester around hunting season, but also in 2009 I was privileged to represent the university as Miss LSU-USA. Having never competed in pageants before, I feel like I owe much of that success to my love for hunting, which nurtured my self-confidence over the years. That night I had the opportunity to share my morals, values and beliefs with an audience of 1000-plus people, and tell them that there is a place for everyone in the great outdoors! It was truly a dream come true that eventually introduced me to the outdoor industry.
Aside from hunting, you can generally always find me smiling and laughing with my family and friends. Running, shopping, traveling and mission trips are a few of my favorite activities.
Although I love the great outdoors, my greatest passion is sharing my faith in Jesus Christ with others. One can't help but see the Lord's handiwork whenever they go afield. It's such a thrill to represent something that I believe in and feel so strongly about. Many people ask what I hope to achieve, and my goal is simple: I want to introduce people to the outdoors, kindle an appreciation for all it has to offer and a desire to come back again.
At the end of the day, I want to be able to say that I stood firm on the values that I hold dear, and that I did my best to be a positive influence in the lives of others. I want to encourage you, whether you are hunting, fishing, or throwing a football, to spend time with a child and get them outdoors; it can make all the difference in their life!
As always, God bless and good hunting,
-Ainsley Beeman
