When you watch a predator chase a prey animal (either on Discovery Channel or in person from your deer stand), do you cheer for the cute and defenseless critter to get away?
Usually I’m just the opposite. As a hunter, I like it when the killer captures the prize. After all, we all gotta eat!
As this home video shows, the “circle of life” doesn’t care who is watching. Mother Nature could give a rat’s rear end that you’ve nurtured and fed a pet bunny named Kermit for a week and are releasing it back into the suburban “wild” to reunite with its mother.
My favorite part of this clip is when Kermit goes airborne and then gives the family a first-hand lesson in the rabbit-in-distress call. Based on the dad’s giggle, I’d say he’s a coyote hunter.
Until next time . . .
