Good Morning All! Didn't have to worry about burning the chicken...it poured on us Sat AM. We had everything set up and had started about 25 bags of charcoal, had a couple hundred halves just on and we got hit with about 2" of rain in 45 min Got ahold of everyone I knew that had hog cookers and hauled 'em in and started everything over. Cooked in the cookers until we could dig trenches and drain the pits. made a quick run to Wally for another 30 bags of charcoal and away we went. Usually takes about 3 hours over the open pits for a rack of chicken but we were cranking them out in about 2 1/2. Still got them done and never had people waiting for them to get finished. Haven't heard yet final #'s yet but had to have served over 1000, that's down a little bit but I think the weather may have had some affect on the attendance.
