Another interesting fact about Dr Timothy Leary. When he was incarcerated he had to take a psychological test meant to determine the threat of violent behavior an inmate presented. This was so they could put inmates in the proper security level section of the institution. Dr Timothy Leary a doctor of psychology and the head of the Harvard psychology department was in fact the author of the test. He actually got a $20,000 government grant to develop this test.

Guess he didn't need a cheat sheet for that test!!!!!

The same Eli Whitney company that made cotton gins also had developed a machine that seperated the hemp from the rest of the plant without destroying it. It was the end of WWII that made it illegal as we had the German  scientist and their formulas for nylon, plastics, and other synthetics. The government and the companies making these synthetic products that really pushed for total elimination of hemp production and making it illegal to possess. Hemp is one of the true earth friendly plants out there as it can be burned and it actually releases carbon dioxide and where it takes 10 years to raise an acre of trees for making products hemp can be harvested twice annually and yet produces the same amount of product as the 10 year old trees do. It can be made into medicine, clothing, fuel and many other things. It's the money that's keeping it illegal as there are many corrupt officials that would lose millions if it were legalized. If legalized it would take the money out of it and it would become cheaper and therefore not worth the prices paid for an illegal product so they want to keep it illegal for monetary gains and nothing more. I know personally I would rather be passing a feller that had smoked pot than a feller that had drank a pint of liquor. Think about it.

We now have a new twist on the legalised use of pot here in Oregon. We have legalised the use for medical purposes and a person has to have a permit issued on the recommendation of a doctor to use it.

Now two county sheriffs are using the possession of a medical marijuana card as a reason to deny the issuing of a concealed weapons permit. They cite a federal law prohibiting illegal marijuana users the right to posses a handgun. Something you guys on here that partake of the weed might want to consider. Federal law of course does not recognize medical use of marijuana as legal use.

From personal use, as a teenager, of Marijuana, I can tell you this.

There are different "Grades" of pot.  You got the Mexican dirt weed, that is, dirt!

Then you got the stuff from California, Canada, Utah, that will turn you into a zombie!

There are inbetween types, that are good, and you can still maintain, a sense of equilibrium.

So, yes, for some weed, you could say it should be classified in the same schedule as Herion.

I never did Herion as a teenager, or ever!  So, I can not tell you if the experiences are similar.

When I lived in Nevada, 6 years ago the doctor gave me a prescription for medical marijuana (for my chronic pain) and papers to fill out for the Marijuana Card, that you get from the State of Nevada.  But, ended up moving to Utah.  So it does not matter, even if I do have a card, cus in Utah, it is still illegal, even for medical uses.  So it is a felony, so it has been many years since I have partaken.

In my opinion, it should me legalized for medical purposes.  And it should be done on a case by case study, as to whether or not a person can own a gun, and be taking marijuana as prescribed by a doctor. 

It would be nice to be able to partake again.  Cus, I was in a better mood, and I don't have to take Oxycontin.  The pills are actually more addictive, so I have to watch, how many I take!

Marijuana is not as addictive as the pills, and better for pain control, as you ony smoke it when in pain, compared to pills, which you have to take on a daily basis.

Take a Toke and hold your Smoke and pass it down the Line.......

I have had documented glaucoma,and even lazer surgery to keep the presssures down,but my work said anyone caught with it in their system will get one crack at "rehab",then your down the road......which of course is BS.It's one thing to toke at work,but whatever you do at home should still be your business.

The TAX Act to which you refer was instituted to try and stop use by non Amercians ie... Chinese/Mexican immigrant workers due to the fear of them using it to intice white women. It has been illegal for many years before Nixon or how do you explain Johnny Cash and Robert Mitchum being arrested in the 1940's and prosecuted for it's use. If you get the History Channel be on the lookout for a series entitled Hooked: Illegal Drugs. This series covers the history of drugs, their use and,  abuse, and the time frame of when they were declared illegal. My reference to the Eli Whitney's company developing the machine mentioned WAS shot down as the German scientist and their inventions/discovey's were brought ot this country. Our own government and a few smart individuals/company's ( The biggest Dupont ) invested much money in these new inventions and products which most could and should have been made from hemp. Hemp is s truly sustainable item that is one of the few that when used is actually good for the environment without having to worry about any toxic by products.

The feds will drop in Breckinridge and make a few high profile 'busts' to scare everyone there back into submission.

Funny thing about those ski places back in the mountains , the feds. show up and then find no one will sell them gas , they can not get a place to stay and no one will serve them food . If they try and walk around town everyone points them out . Their vehickles get flat tires and the local LEO'S will not help them .

Great way for Obama to get votes if he needs them in 2012 .

I will legalize pot and we will tax it , hemp is a 'green' product and growing it will create jobs in America .
