I've been sick for a while but I should get out tonight for a while. Hopefully I'll kill one. HUNT 'EM UP! Jake from NE Pennsylvania. a.k.a: fishnman (NAFC). "Live every day as if it were your last. The woman and I went out Saturday and sat in a ground blind in the wind and rain. I had my bow for deer and she had her 20 gauge for turkeys. I was making sporadic calls with the box call to try and bring one in for her, but I didn't expect to see anything with the weather being so bad. I was showing her the different deer sounds my grunt calls make when I looked out the window to my left and saw a group of 5 or 6 hens walking down the hill about 50 yards out. I grabbed the box and did a couple of "putt" calls, and they bee-lined toward us. She ended up taking one at about 17 yards, and all but one of the others flew off, so she quickly handed me her shotgun and I chambered a shell and took the straggler. Second time we pulled a 'double' since we've been hunting together.

Now thats team work right there. Congrats on your double johndeere. Ill' be going out for a couple of days during the last week. Friends got a farm in Montrose,Pa. My first fall turkey hunt. I've been looking forward to the trip for a while now. Even if I don't get one it'll be great to get away for a couple of days and not worry about work and just hunt.

Congrats on the double YAMASI, can't wait to do that with my girl. Hey dino, what's the name of the farm you hunt on in Montrose? I live on a farm just outside of Laceyville, which is south of Montrose by the Wyoming/Susquehanna border. HUNT 'EM UP! Jake from NE Pennsylvania. a.k.a: fishnman (NAFC). YAMASI NOW THAT'S WHAT BEING AT THE RITE PLACE AT THE RITE TIME IS ALL ABOUT AND ALSO BEING OUT THERE NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER IS. CONGRATS ON THE DOUBLE.
DINO I HAVE A FEW FRIENDS THAT LIVE AROUND THE MONTROSE AREA. I USE TO HUNT IN THE SILVARA AREA, WHICH IS REAL CLOSE TO JAKE, WHEN MY GRANDFATHER USE TO HAVE PROPERTY THERE UNTIL HIS SUMMER HOME WAS BURNT DOWN BY SOMEONE AND HE DECIDED TO SELL THE PROPERTY AND ALSO WHEN MY FATHER BELONGED TO DARK HOLLOW ROD AND GUN CLUB UNTIL THE OTHER MEMBERS THAT HAVE OTHER PROPERTY, THEY OWN DECIDED TO SELL IT AND THEY GOT THE 2/3 MAJORITY VOTE TO SELL IT ALSO MY GREAT GRANDFATHER USE TO OWN MOST OF SILVARA. I CAN STILL HUNT UP THERE ON ONE OF THE FARMERS PROPERTY WHENEVER I WANT, BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME WHEN YOU CAN'T HUNT THE AREA THAT I HUNTED WHEN I WAS A LITTLE TOT. IT WAS CLOSE PLACE TO GO AFTER OR BEFORE WHEN I WORKED AT PROCTER & GAMBLE. I SURELY MISS IT.

I'm not sure if the farm has a name but it's owned by the Trescoske family. They live off 167. About 20 minutes from Vestal, New York. It's more of a cattle farm then a crop farm. I was there for one day last spring for turkey. Saw lots the day I got there but only saw a few hens when I was hunting next morning. As far as I can tell I can hunt all day for fall turkeys.

Nope, can't recall it. Hey, I almost got one yesterday. I heard some clucks and yelping, so I called back, and for a while they were coming, but then for no reason, they turned and went over the ridge. I knew that if I chased after them, I wouldn't succeede, so I went elsewhere. Oh well, just glad to hear them. HUNT 'EM UP! Jake from NE Pennsylvania. a.k.a: fishnman (NAFC). JAKE LIKE YOU SAID AT LEAST YOU HEARD THEM. GOOD LUCK NEXT TIME.
I HAVEN'T BEEN OUT YET FOR THEM, BUT THIS WEEK I WILL BE GETTING OUT FOR THEM.

Got to the farm Sunday afternoon, only saw two flocks by the house and barn. Monday morning hear some down in the woods, walk up and down the hills all day nothing. Tuesday morning set up in the field near where I heard them on Monday, nothing. Walk around for a while , but have to leave for home so I head to my truck. As I'm leaving I see a flock both toms and hens in a field near the house. I park the truck out of site grab my gun and get camo back on, run through upper field out of site to get ahead of flock. Turned in too soon right behind flock they see me and start running. I run faster to get ahead of them, this time I'm right there at the same time. Gobbler stops, looks at me head up 15 yards. Gun up safety off. I don't shoot. Right behind house. Shot was safe, down hill, clear view, but ethics kicks in I feel too close to the house. Maybe 80 yards and pointing to the left of house. Kick myself all during the three hour ride home for not taking the shot. My friend calls to see if I got anything tell him the story and he says I should have shot it that his parents didn't care how close I was to the house, start kicking myself again.
